*UPDATE*

tested the board with just the CPU, 1 stick of RAM and my videocard, using my friends power supply (a known working psu). Same issue still occurs. This board is a dud. One thing I noticed...

luckily ill be able to use my friends 850w coolermaster...ill try his on my config and he'll see if my psu can power his rig. if this psu works fine in his rig, then something else may be the...

nvm, its still failing. im beginning to think this is a psu issue. i tested the system with just 1 stick of RAM and the CPU (with the heatsink of course); no DVD-ROM, hard drive, or even videocard....

ok ive made some improvements..i actually got it to turn on without turning itself off.

this is what i did

Tested Ram stick #1 in ALL 4 DIMM slots, each time was a no-go
Tested Ram stick #2 in...

rgr, ill test each stick of ram in each DIMM slot.
