Quiet a weird problem here:
I always get one error in test7 memtest (v1.52 if I remember) and I always get it at 95.5mb?
Tried 2-3-2-6 1T as well as 3-3-3-11 2T but doesn't make a difference :stick:
Both at 2.88V VDimm (max I can give it atm)
I'll now trie another stick, but what do you guys think it is? Corrupt stick? Not enough Voltage?
ashe.....only 2.88 ? omg that's nothing
try 220 2-2-2-5 !!!! not 2-3-2-6
Hi Mushkin Source, nice to meet ya ;)Quote:

yep they need 3.0v+

Tiger, UTT is not BH-5, UTT is actually the new CH-5. The BH-5 used in the Mushkin Blue is actual BH-5 ICs, not UTT. They are not Speed Binned or tested so you are taking a chance, but so far performance has been good with them. I should be getting my 4 sticks tomorrow or Friday, then I'll be stressing them all weekend and finding the best 2.
And its these ones:
http://shop4.outpost.com/product/360...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG
so do the dual packs come with black BP pcb also? I love these black pcb :D
awwww you have to be kidding......i cant tell my dad i want to return the sticks the day i got them :(
i bought two seperate ones, but at least i got black pcb
:dammit:
Lolz ok cool, sweet to have someone that builds these so close. So part # 990992 is bh5 and ch5, but the dual packs are bh5 ic's right (PART#991140)? Of which you are making 4000 more of yes?Quote:

er...is PCB color just looks or is there a difference between the modules with blue and black PCB's?
Hmm, I wonder if you can do that and then have outpost credit the money back.Quote:

Don't want do give up yet but it's pretty depressing to have 3 crappy sticks and one that cannot even be tested :(

Here is my current status:
Got 4 Mushkins, 3 can be used (s.a. why)
My motherboard is a Abit KV8 pro (S754), i'm running a very old modded Bios version because it is my only chance to give high voltage (up to 3.32V) at the moment.
One stick (the first i tried) seems to be very bad to me, i didn't want to run the default specs nor 2-2-2-5 at 3.3V, that's why for the moment i would like to concentrate on the other two sticks
Both of em pass memtest (and test5 loops) at 220Mhz 2-2-2-5 3.3V
Both of em show some errors at 225Mhz (one seems to be a bit better, sometimes passes without any error, but most likely will produce 1-2 errors a loop, the other one gives me 2 or more errors /loop)
My settings are the ones Dumo used (link) They helped me getting less error at 230Mhz with the "good" stick but they decreased the "good" stick's performance at 225Mhz (had it up to 10 loops memtest5 errorfree + one whole memtest loop)
My general Question would be what you guys think is holding me back?
Did I just get 3 Crappy sticks?
Is it my MoBo / old Bios?
Any of my bios settings?
I would like to hope that everything might become good but after 6 hours it's quite hard :(

I guess I was lucky when I got mine and thought, well I can use them in another system if they don't fly high, but now they are my best benching ram now, running 253 memtest passable and much higher in benching 3d ;)
almost all utt is hitting around 220 with around 3.3v i dont recall seeing worse except for a few sticks
Why wouldn't they be UnTesTed? No binning = UTT. Process doesn't matter.Quote:

well i bit the bullet and bought a dual pack :) i'll update you guys in a few days!

Crim
right now all mushkin blues are built with utt ch and bh dyes on brainpower green and brainpower black pcb.
Duonger
according to duonger, if you buy seperate sticks of mushkin blue you have a 50/50 chance of either a green pcb/black pcb utt but if you buy the dual pack you'll get a matched pair of bh pcb for sure.
My 4 sticks should be here tomorrow (2 dual packs). I'm not going to give them too much voltage, mainly because they have heatspreaders and a fan on them won't cool all the other components on the pcb, but the 2.9v max on my NF7-S should hopefully do the trick if these act like old BH-5 :)
Duonger, which pcb are the current dual channel kits on?
I guess its not that important, I'll be able to see for myself tomorrow :)
well i just recieved 4 sticks from outpost. i noticed something interesting. the sticks that i got from the online purchase came in different packaging than the ones i bought at a local store. the ones from outpost were in a sealed plain package and the ones i bought locally where in the same type of packaging but had a large mushkin sticker wrapped around it. at first i thought it was nothing but then i checked the numbers on the sticks and they were different. im curious which sticks you guys are getting.

http://home.comcast.net/~esoteradactyl/outpost.JPG
Mine are like the one above (you got from fry's locally) and i got them from outpost.com online order :)
Does this number tell anything? bh5/utt maybe?
Pretty sure mine are not bh5 as they wont run 2-2-2 under 3V
I just ordered a pair from outpost so I will post when I get mine. Gotta stop buying ram. I think there needs to be a 12 step program for this addiction.

@Duonger: Are you guys going to revive "Level II Black Hi Perf"-line? Or other enthusiast-ram?
Silly me! Of course you are!
I have the DC kit arriving tomarrow. I couldn't resist the price and like to see if either stick will out perform my TwinMos Speed Premiums ch-5 utt. Currently running at 255htt, cas2,2,6,2,1t at 3.4v on my DFI LP NF3. Like to see some results members are getting with these so called new bh5 die with brainpower pcb. Lets see some resutls already.

will open them (and take more pics) later tonight or this weekend :D
these sticks say winbond bh-5, there old school winbond 330wf. Sweet...
sexy!
old school bh5?
wow!
i cant believe it myself, these little virgins are gonna get a burnin of a life time. Ive never owned an actual gig of bh-5 before, never thought I would either. this is awesome. :party3:
So those don't have the new BH dies found in the TwinMOS Speed Premium, these are actually old BH-5 chips  Try checking all the chips to see if they're all the same week/year.
But where do "old" bh5 come from nowadays?
Don't think Mushkin forget 'em in storage or something ;)
I'm curiose about their performance anyway :)
hurry up and tell us whats up, i got my dual pack coming really soon and I cant wait to find out.Quote:

do they run at the rated c2 336 speeds??
error is there at any timings, the good sticks doing good tho.
So I'm seeing weird things with my Blues. Individually, the sticks do tight timings passing memtest up to 255 but when I put then together, they only do 240. Wassup with that? Incapable memory controller?
Sounds like a Command Rate/CPC restriction. I bet switching to 2T would get you back up there, but at a performance loss.
This is exceptional memory for the price. I order 4 sticks last week. 1 stick would not post so I RMA'd it and received the replacement within 2 days from Outpost. They even offered to pay for shipping back (I forgot to fax the copy of the receipt, still might do it though). Anyways, 1 set will do 256MHz w/3.3 volts and the "crappy" set will do ~ 245MHz w/3.3 volts. I burned in the crappy set for ~40 hours hoping to get it to at least 250MHz, but no. I am currently running all 4 sticks at 2-2-2-10 timings at 245. This is w/3.4 volts and 2T. I could not get 1T to even boot with 2-2-2-10 at 200 MHz. Memtest shows a bandwidth of ~ 2780, which I think is very good for 2GB memory. Not bad for only $266. I have also ordered the dual channel set in hopes of finding some BH5 to match my Mushkin Level II PC3500 BH5. They run 266 w/3.3 volts. This is all done on a DFI Nforce4 Ultra. Here is my complete list of memory settings using 4 sticks w/ official 3-10 bios (newest beta kept giving me CMOS error).
200-D-2-2-10-2-2-7-17-3-2-2-3-3120-A-E A-0-8-4-A-A-256-D-16-7-D
sounds like there are varying results ...still good mem!
josania, which motherboard are you using? DFI lanparty?
Ordered 2x twin set yesterday for my DFI ultra... just a quick question about the burn in with 4 sticks. Should i go for 1, 2 or 4 at the same time and do you guys use memtest loops [ maybe test 5 ? ] or other progs [ sandra ? ].
And if the sticks are BH-5 as they should what settings do you use on burn in.
PTK
@Ashe
Yes, I am using the DFI Lanparty nForce4 UltraD.
@PTK
I first did a quick run through to see what the max freq was for each stick. I then matched them up and burned them in 2 at a time using test #5 in memtest. I used 3.4 volts and the timings listed previously, except using 1T. This was done for ~ 20 hours the first run through. I did an additional 40 hours on my "crappy" set that "only" does 245 at 2-2-2-10-1T. I now am running with all of them at the timings posted previously. I have a 80cm fan on top of my CPU heatsink blowing at the memory. After running memtest for ~ 1 hour, looping test 5, the memory was still cool, even at 3.4 volts.
guys, just received my Mushkin. Sneak peak without heatspreader......
http://home.comcast.net/~phippy1/Mushkin.jpg
Obviously mine have the green pcb but also if I remember correctly theres two different types of brainpower pcb 808 and 815, I have the B6U815. Notice the chips are naked with two nipples.
That 1T or 2T issue is most likely CPU. I am running all 4 @ 235 2-2-2-6 1T.
Tested well into windows for 245 2-2-2-6 1T or so but my CPU is not good enough to use that multi...
I broke down and bought the DC kit. I might have my 512 stick of VX that does 250HTT up for sale soon!!! As an FYI, my CPU cant handle over 250HTT and I dont want to drop CPU speed. I need 1GB for my gaming. I hope to receive the sticks tomorrow.
-Mack
i got a prob, on a...
p4c800 E deluxe using the blue slots, it would post but not get to the sign in screen
now i tried every possible setting, everything on auto, advertised timings, (and from the selection at bootup)
safe mode
last settings that worked
start normally
sometimes it wouldnt even get as far as the windows loading part
I got my sticks today, havent dont much testing, but couldnt do 220 5-2-2-2 1T at 3.3 when i first put them in.
Been playing CS:S so maybe they are ready for more.
Where I am at right now:
Testing stick 1 (the crappy one  ) at 3.2V
200mhz 2-2-2-5 : fails memtest (sometimes 2 errors test 3, up to 9 errors test 8)
230 2-3-2-5 : currently does SuperPi 1M (no time for memtest or 32M)
The stick seemed to suck the most from the beginning so the others might do better.
Any special timings that might help 2-2-2-5 settings?

Got some initial results...and they are VERY good :)
1st stick I've tried passes Test 5 at 200MHz, 2-2-2-5, 2.6v on my AI7. This is one of the new BH on green BP815 pcb.
DECISIONS DECISIONS
:woot:
I got the green pcb with B6U815 on em, they are the new bh5's i guess. Anyways, the boot into windows at 242 1.5-2-2-5 @3.2, i'm guessing they arent so bad, :D once I get some more voltage into them, but right now I am unable to due to restrictions.
BTW I got the dual pack, I think the black brainpower pcb and old bh5 will probably be the best performing.
saruji!! that's freaking awesome do you have any screen shots ;)
245@3.2v is GREAT!!! That's sounds equal to or better than my 273mHz "BLUE"....I'm just lovin these things, I just played about 4 hours of HL2 with 4 x 512mB MUSHKIN BLUE @ 240+ 3.4v.... 2T of course, but the gaming experience of 2gB of FAST ram was incredible....Quote:

I'm not doubting you Shroom, but are you sure that your black sticks are not BP? Out of the two I ordered (I ordered the single sticks) one is green and one is black, they both are BP815's but the printing on the black stick is really, really, REALLY hard to see (might have something to do with my old eyes :stick: ) but it is there.Quote:
