put these new ones in and was disappointed that they wouldnt do a single loop of test 5 at 3.2V 2-2-2. in fact had to up all the way to 3.5V to get it to pass at 200MHz. :(
tried at 240 3.5V-3.7V and errors at first loop. so ive dropped back to 230MHz 3.5V and they passed. Im hoping if I leave them for 48 hours looping then they will improve but I dont think they will really get that much beter or am I wrong?anyone get a great increase after burning in?
btw im on a neo2 s939 with 1.36b BIOS. the most annoying thing is my CPU will do 2.7GHz but since the dividers dont run on this mobo with VX I could be stuck at say 2.35-2.4GHz. :(
arent these tested to at least 240 2-2-2?
wow and ppl said I was picky about mine maxing out @ 238Mhz, you RMA'd a set that did 250?
They are rated @ 240 2228 but not test iirc.
lol dont be silly i never RMAed cos they werent fast enough. one of them died and I RMAed both as a set. :p:Quote:

I was using that for 24/7 use. I haven't gotten really tweaked benching timings yet, cause I was spending so much time on my SLI setup. Come to find out one card was borked.
Basically all the non auto setting are pretty good. The 2/25 bios also sets some really good timings, and is pretty fast but still alowing max OC.
Please burn the VX in and see what you get. We are testing no different than we have all along.Quote:

btw I do wish to point out that OCZ RMA process is second to none and I have nothing but the utmost praise for the customer care you guys provide. Big thumbs up! :toast:
edit:ive always had an 80mm silenx blowing on these via a zalman bracket and they are barely warm to touch.
Hey guys, when burning in the ram does i half to have them doing a test loop of #5 for 24hours stright or do i gotta do like little increments like, looping for 6 hours when at work, and looping for 10 hours when sleeping etc etc?, cuz i use my computer everyday so i can't really just let it sit for 24 to 48 hours stright letting the ram burn in.
The main issue is not slamming it with 3.5v right off the bat. You can certainly run at lower volts and memtest when you are not using it. No problem there.
Okay good thats a relief cuz i just don't got the time to do 24 to 48 stright, so thats good, but too bad i didn't know that before, cuz i slammed mine with 3.5v right off the bat, and well there dead lol  so there gonna be RMA'd , but my next pair i will do the memtest looping of 3.2v for 48 hours totaly then go for the overclocks and not hammer it with 3.5v right off the bat.
oops..
wait for ur result lol
damn :(
got 2x512 OCZ PC4000 VX
i did burn-in them for ~20H at 200 2-2-2-5 at 3.2V
but they only get stable@250 on 3.5(!!!) V :(
what could i try? which bios works best 4 vx px4000?
this is a very handy forum, at least some people who know something about hardware
anyways, im planning on buying ocz vx as well (pc3200)
in combination with dfi nf4 sli-dr 3500+winny and xfx 6800gt
should give me a pretty fast pc
i will build a waterchiller somewhere in the summer break to make it fly, will have more time and money then
hope the memory will do good, but i'm pretty sure cause of all the good feedbacks on the memory "best memory made since bh-5"
not try 3.5 V over ?Quote:

Keep burning them in.... I doubt you've maxed them out yet... if they still don't do 250 @ 3.3V after a week or so of burning in, make a post in the OCZ forum about it and the OCZ reps will help you out.Quote:

how should i burn them in?
2-2-2-10-1T@200@3.3V OR 2-2-2-10-2T@250@3.5 OR another possibility?
i should burn them in >80h ????
OCZ recommends 2-2-2 @ 3.2V for 48 hours, then just keep pushing it up until you start getting errors, then let it run test #5 until the errors are gone. Eventually when you hit 3.5-3.6V and are still getting the same amount of errors after hours of test #5, you can assume you've hit your limit... then back it down until you get no more errors and that should be your max.
so, i did memtest 24h now, but i will let run memtest86+ 1.51 for another 24 or even more h!!! but my bosster is :banana::banana::banana:ed up i guess.... suddenly it showed 3.0Vdimm! and then i got 450000 errors... so i had to adjust it to 3.2V again... should i continu with this errors?? (they did just appear once!)
yeah but how do i burn mine in as they wont do 200MHz at 2-2-2 3.2V. anything under 3.5V gives errors.bah!
ops .. wrong post
i didnt exactly read every post of this thread but has anyone ran them through 50+ passes of memtest @ [Edit: whoops.... 260-270mhz] 2-2-2 and not got any errors?
by the way it would be nice if they werent twice the price in the uk as they are in the US... dam the uk's taxes!!
I can only dream mine seems to top out at 250 :( did have some twinmos speed premium that did 258 before this vx but thats now gone gutted!Quote:
