Thanks Nick, I'm sure I read that somewhere but just wanted to check as I intend to get one when they show up in the UK
Yes thanks mate but for some reason I cant get my RAM to run stable @ 2800 & like for like timings at 2666 were much slower in 32M with it so gave up & went back to F5....
Got my new Gigabyte OC and retail chip few days ago, am really impressed with this new platform, should be going cold soon.Should see some strong memory clocks from this board
Anyone else having a really really hard time with BBSE on Z87X-OC? Got like two or three 32m to pass at 1250 8-10-7 but it's really unstable and stupid, most of the time struggles to even boot.
My cpu needs LOTS of VCCIO volts for 2GB Dram modules(PSC and BBSE) like 1.25 to make 2400 32M and 1.375 to even boot 2600,check those and system agent
that's a lot of vccio... have you isolated the problem to these voltages alex?
Negative, the thing is i can boot samsungs 2400 9-11-11 fine at 1.1VCCIO.Psc need 1.25 for 2400 regardless 9-11-9 or 7-11-7.I tried even 9-11-11 and VERY loose tertiary, same story.Other cpu's needed less, this one has weak cache and IMC :shakes:
let's hope nick, the better the boards the better for us :yepp:
Nick: oh okie. How about in Asia? Hehehe. :D

what would be the fun if you got ALL the settings? there aren't too many on the OCF. ive been on haswell less than 24 hours so that should give you an idea how easy it is to get this kind of score. ive read no guides, and only made 2 slight modifications (ramdisk + maxmem) to my pi os.
here is a hint... there are a lot of 4's and 3 13's and 1 5. that covers all of my 3rds
pi is fun because its more than just timings... as I will demonstrate in my next post.
I've always admired this thread for being very informative for others ,about comparing different type of RAM sharing /learning from the pros -I'm pretty sure that's why it got so popular ..no hard fillings I just go with the flow
Nice score man

in no way would I call myself pro. the 2666 tight bbse profile helped start as a baseline, then I tuned in from what it could do on ivy, then tuned in more till it was nice. tune in too far, and you lose efficiency on 3 timings. tfaw, twrwrdd, twrwrdr. tfaw is set to 20 by the profile and you should raise it to 26.
i can almost get trfc 89 to pass but it seems a little slower most likely due to bleeding edge instability. mabye if it gets cooler here in socal. ambients are a pain to work with sometimes when you have central air.
tempted to switch to sammys or some psc to see how they fare. all my stuff is all retail. no cherry picks except mabye the memory but that was pure luck of the newegg draw.
Fine-tuned my 5 ghz run a little, should try a new win soon ,benched this since november last year lol

Aida64 is a mess on this new platform, copy/read is not a good indicator of memory efficiency, had crap performance with excellent aida numbers and excellent results with crap aida numbers...

a week isnt nearly long enough. ive got a the old kpc pot that might work ok with the 2000 8-9-8 corsairs i have hanging out. it would be quite tricky to mod it all out to be a better pot for clamping on gskill heatspreaders.
Awesome run with bbse Zen:up:
Epic bbse
Couldn't get 2830 to run coz the board changes strap or whatever over 106 bclk but managed 2850 with lower bclk 2860 was a no go!! so figured id shoot for 2933 . Don't have adjustment for a few settings shown on memtweakit & most of the timings displayed are one out i.e set 15 in bios get 14 in mt. The other difficult thing is the timing names on mt don't correlate to my giga bios so been fudging stuff up good & proper. Anyway ended up giving 3000 a go with my dominators & they run so looks like I got some tweaking to do :D

Yeah os handoff is when clocks are applied. What volts you at?
probably not enough. i was walking up and can do 4.9 but no 50. cpu voltage up to 1.5 before i quit. venomous x cant keep up after that without making the fans scream like crazy.
is that fine on air?

there is normally only one version of a bios so yes.
you can download all the beta stuff at Tweaktown Gigabyte forum section that stasio is hosting also!
I'll be sending the info to sin0822 that he will put in his guide with some screenshots of bios settings, memtweak timings, GTL volts etc
send me the shirt first! I wanna get wasted and fight a wallaby :D
j/k.... I don't drink at all... still down for fighting cute animals though.
why don't YOU make the guide. It would be nice to know it came from somebody who knew how to overclock  (sorry sin... I had to)
don't underestimate sin, he's alright :D
seems you are underestimating wallabies also EEEK :D:D:D

didnt have it on the OS, not sure if they can actually install on it
noticed in this thread there are some that have nothing on screen, some only have memtweakit, some have AIDA64, some both, some have no readings on AIDA, some have covered up timings on asrock ram reading thingie
seems a bit all over the show :)

ive compared 4.8 and 4.9 uncore at 5ghz, 4.9 is very close, maybe 100-200ms slower, but thats not confirmed could just be waza, 4.8 on the other hand is 500-1500ms slower..
id be quite interested in picking your brain on waza pro.

OCF is a breeze to bench one you figure out what your cpu likes voltage wise.
