Windows 7 Right-Click error, 'Explorer must restart' solved.
Windows 7 Right-Click error 'Explorer must restart' solved.
I was running Windows 7 64 bit, and cursed with the error that 'Explorer must restart', usually triggered by a right click of the mouse.
I figured my registry might be bad, but did one last massive search for my answer before reinstalling 7 fresh. I hit gold!

"There is an incompatibility between Mozilla Firefox and Windows 7 64bit, when Private Browsing is used, which can cause the Windows Explorer crashing. It is due to some bug in the way Firefox and the Windows clipboard interact and whenever a the user right clicks, and the context menu has the paste command in it, explorer.exe will crash."
Apparently it only affects you if you have history turned off, or browsing in private mode.
I had history turned off.
I changed (1) setting and my issues are gone!
Windows 7 has now become rock solid for me...
In Firefox, 'Tools' drop-down menu, select options. (Options window appears.)
Select the 'Privacy' tab.
You should see... Firefox will: (and a drop down box)
Mine is now set for: Remember history
All 'right-click' errors gone.
I never did try browsing in Privacy mode, so I can't speak to that.
