I think if you fluxed them both and used silver solder and a torch you may be able to get that to happen
Like the guide :) Great layout

do it have to use hard soldering? coz i'm a noob in those
i just able to soft solderings .. i've spoken to quite a lot ppl .. they mention around 30% efficiency of thermal transfer compared to the milling which is 100%
does it worth it? but it's much more easier that way (headaches)
NICE Work excellent
Issue there is warping with the heat involved on two such comparatively large surfaces... It could be done, but controlling the deformation would be tricky. You're moving from electrical soldering into mechanical (?) soldering there... then you've got maintaining the pressure of the two plates against each other while you solder... where the clamps would be, or vertical load weight, would affect the heat dispersion and thus the thermal quality of the bond...Quote:
can you solder 2 copper plates together? and have non-corrosion + adequate thermal transfer? Milling is not an option for me
S'doable, but guaranteeing performance of the end product becomes difficult.
So it isn't computer related, but it is soldering related. I'm trying to solder a ring terminal to 4gauge wiring, but it is a real PITA. Am I correct in guessing that I should crimp to the best of my abilities (don't have an actual crimper) then use a torch to heat the area up and feed the solder in, or is there a better way? I have some soldering experience, but nothing on wire this thick. The electrician in me wants to do it by myself, and the cautious person in me wants to stop by the electrical shop near my house and have them do perform this.
Great guide!!! I absolutely needed this, I am about to embark on a pretty wild little project :)
thanks for the great guide!!
Thanks mate gonna keep this for later reference, might try a few mods on some old cards!
wow good guide. I solder a lot myself and this is a good refresh for me.
dudes I am about to get this. http://www.amazon.com/Jumbo-Helping-.../dp/B001U8XVOS
my eyes get strained so badly. Anyone else like to share similar rigs to keep your hands free and bright and magnified?
Great guide. Thank you.
great info the more i watch the crazier i feel myself getting with my hardware lol
Great guide got an 8800gt and a 9600gt im going to work on tomorrow also I honestly would have never have though of clapping to steady out my hands while soldering
