BTC just broke $7 USD, that has not happened for quite a few months. :)
On a side note, i put in a pre-order for one or the BFL Jalapenos. Anybody else going to get the new ASIC hardware?

So this means my old wallet from about a year ago that has 0.06 BTC in it is worth 42 cents?
I do wonder how my 7950 would do at this.
I placed on order on the 23rd for a Jalapeno. I hope I'm one of the first. :)
I still have a hundred or so, and am mining with ~3GH/s
Those BitForce Jalapenos look like they would repay the investment pretty quickly! O:
I might have to get one myself, or even one of the Single SCs :D
Anybody got some power consumption numbers for the Bitforce Jalapeno 3.5Gh/s? I've got 30BTC just sitting in my wallet, this would be a good way to use it, but only if the power consumption is very low, I pay .24c/kWh. if its less than the comparable hashes/watt of the BFL Single which is ~320watts power consumption for 3.3Gh/s then sweet as! Somebody mentioned it is powered via usb, meaning less than 5watts right? that would be nuts. There is a cloud of mystery around this thing though so I'm more than a little sceptical.
Nobody knows what the power consumption is going to be, right now it is all speculation.
For 22BTC i took a chance and wanted to be one of the early adopters. I am hoping for the best. :)
According to this thread it's 80 watts for ~ 800 MHash/sec.
what 9000!!
Yeah, I dropped 26 BTC on one as a speculator (Shipping to Australia incl.) I had forgotten I had 30BTC sitting in my wallet anyway, was never going to sell them and hadn't found anything good to buy with straight BTC yet, until now. Only have to wait like 3 months for this thing to ship though, lol. I had thought I might wait for the BTC price to rise so I could afford 2 jalapenos but really can't be bothered keeping track of it until i'm bringing them in again.
Judging by the offer BFL is making replacing the single for a 50% discount on the BFL SC or 8 Jalapenos I assume they compete quite well in terms of power, as well as being a lot cheaper. BFL said they will outpace the current range quickly so that has to include power consumption being better.
Anyway, we shall see. 3.5Gh/s for $150 is a bet I'm willing to take!
BTC > $8 USD :)
Anybody know what is making the price jump??
I'm so beyond lost as to what you guys are talking about and i thought i had a pretty good grasp on odd internet things... google didnt help lol
Bitcoin, secure* virtual currency. People with AMD graphics cards or FPGA's can 'mine' these coins and speculation on the market means you can make some money from it, for a while. Google "bitcoin", there is lots more to it.
*bitcoin itself is secure but the holding of the coins and the way they are used can be shady.
there is also substantial manipulation of the market price via large dumping or buying of coins, same as all share markets really but it is such a small market that a single large investor can initiate huge swings in price. i think we may be seeing a little bump in price now, large investors steadily buying coins in large blocks and upping the price, getting more people to try their hand and then when it reaches say $10+ the big guys will dump again and the price will crash.
BTC > $9 USD, I think i might unload a few at this price :)
Man I lost track of BTC when it burst awhile ago, glad I sold mine all at $29+ but cool to see it rebounded :D
My wife still can't believe she got a 2008 Ford Explorer with 7,000 miles on it paid for in cash with a PayPal MO :p
+10 USD today :)
BTC on a roll > $11 USD :):)
I still wish I got in this when it was easy to mine. Although my card I had at the time was worthless for mining, so.... :p:
Can I tell you guys that I've already received over $2000.00 from MJ12...:D
MJ12 gives cash? o.0
Alright, time for me to sell enough parts to buy a BitForce Single...even if BTC crashed again, the new FPGAs would still turn a profit vs energy costs
BTC > $13 USD :) :) :)
Cashing in some coins!
