For quite some time i want to play a little with a hot vga card and a cpu cooler. The right time has come, GF100 time.
I choose my convex lapped True Copper (details here, from post 26), PK-1 thermal paste, and here it is:

Thats why we call the TRUE Copper 'The King'. I think he made the almighty Fermi look pedestrian and cool. :)
Hehe ghetto zip-tie mod.
ambient temp?
20oC
I think the San Ace on the True Copper is too small. /sarcasm
Wow, maybe I should use my TRUE Copper now instead collecting dust.
Sweet :)
I was thinking cable thighs won't do the job...
I am going to have HR-02 same way. Passive cooling solution.
I'm having a hard time deciphering the graphs.. is that 28C under load??
out it curiousity, what are the san ace fan specs?
have you used any backplate?
Very interesting way to cool it down :D y have an ultra 120A i think i will give it a try :D
No backplate, pressure is not good.
Temps ~40c max on stock and ~45c max at 1138mV/Fur xtreme burning mode
Loving this mod. We need some way to do backplates....
Go custom. Shouldn't be too hard IF you have the proper tools.
@ [XC] Synthetickiller
Unfortunately all I have for metalworking is hammer and a can opener XD
The thing I was thinking about... i wanted to make proper metal mount before i saw this.

GF-100 Bolt-Thru-Kit is my solution, if you rather pay than get on with tools.
simply...wow
Grats mate!
Damn, I love that ghetto cooling :) Get yourself a pair o deltas - and off you go for some serious air-benching :)
OMG, sick temps
I have one true cooper in box, will try to put him on 8800GTS :D
edit: didn't took to much time to test it out :D
idle 33 load 36 :D :D

@ poparamiro
Did you removed plate from GPU?
Thanks
@ Ccaution - delta's are toys for babies, if you want the real thing try 300CFM counter rotating fan from Sun Ace.
@ DomagojX - hehehehe, sick temps
@ dienicy - GF100 ihs is not removed
HMM. When you think about it, this might work even better in a case: get one of those full towers that have provision for both top and bottom PSU mount. Then mount the PSU up top. On the bottom provide a stand to support the top of the heatsink to keep it from pulling on the vidcard. Might work, and then you'd never have to worry about gpu temps again.
what a dangerous procedure this must have been with all those tie wraps. luckily the g100 is fine on its own and using a true for the GPU HSF is nuts and placing a san ace. i would never thought it would fit
some more eXtreme stuff :D
