You're missing the point though, the Stealth is not an active full card cooler. The Stealth as it stands now only actively cools the GPU, the aluminium body passively (well with a small amount of air flow from case fans) cools the NVIO and VGA. Some heat transfer will make it into the water, but hardly any there is that much aluminium to travel through. There is more heat dump into water on an EK 8800 full cover than the Stealth
I doubt the price would be much different to what stealth is now.
Things that would cost more:
- More milling time on the aluminium due to taking away the hole middle sector leaving just the ledge for the copper to screw into.
- The bigger copper plate if you wanted the same size base as the current stealth (due to losing maybe 3mm for the ledge).
- The addition of four screws to attach base plate to aluminium ledge.
Things that would make it cheaper
- I would imagine it would be cheaper to mill Delrin
I wouldn't imagine it would be far off what Stealth costs now due to the design not being a million miles off what it is now. If I had the time and desire and if Gabe wouldn't drop on me like a tonne of bricks then I would get a few milled. Problem is, it would be costly for me due to minimum cost of one batch of a few.
