From TPU......they have the info on their front page. And it seems both cards are going to be released within a couple weeks.
That was fast!

Nvidia is releasing 2 other GK104 cards. A BIgpu with 2x1536sp/2x2gb memory and a little brother of the 680, the 670 wich is a "failed binning" GK104 with 1 unit cut away. This make the GTX670 a 1344sp card and usually a little lower clocks than a Full GK104.

Wheeeee:banana:
680 2 Gig, 256 bus, (Good card), And slightly out performs a 7970 in most areas, Slightly.
But with the 7970 price drop and 356 bus and 3 Gigs leaning to AMD unless Nvidia can go with a higher Bus and keep
the price within reason to go that way.
Later:rolleyes:
It's not the bus, it's how you use it. An example is how your i7 930 has a 192-bit memory bus, but sandy bridge slaps it around. The 3820 has double the memory bus of the 2600k, but it actually loses some comparisons still. The HD 2900XT had a 512bit memory bus, but it lost horrifically to the 8800GTX with it's 384-bit bus.
Using only the memory bus to make your decision tells us you made your decision merely on the brand and decided it would be best to claim the memory bus as your reasoning behind it.
So.... you're leaning towards AMD with a memory bus and volume that by your own comment, ISN'T giving it a performance lead? What if nV cut the price?
OR... what about nV with 4GB? That'll help a fair few games/ programs.
It's time to find out if all the "only 2GB" whining was on the money :D
Been in both camps over the years so Not a fan fan boy of either one.
Just going for a (Single) card right now and going to take all factors into account as want
a card that will perform well for a few Gens as my 5770CF's have done.
Should know in a couple weeks how the extra vram and interface works between the cards
and direction I'm going.
Was tempted to go for the 7970 or the 680, But glad I waited.
$550.00 is my (Upper) limit on one or the other, So the 4 gig 680 may be out of reach for me anyway.
Just want to see the (Valitated) facts before I pull the trigger.
Be nice to get back to a single card again anyway!
Later:)
IMO watercooling = 7970
Air Cooling = 680
both are pretty equal clock for clock but the base clock is alot lower on the stock 7970 vs 680
$479 on egg is nice too but the 680 right now is no where to be found :(
Perhaps GTX 690 will overclock better (voltage control?). This would be a good redeeming point.
When are the Kepler mid range cards coming out to replace the 460/560/ price range cards
very rare 680 in Thailand
680 first lot (small amount) sold out quickly
and second lot never come!!!!
Maybe i have not understand what you mean... but dont expect to see the GTX670 in the 300$.. ( not before a long time )
I was looking on Newegg, All card are just out of stock.. some enter, some goes... Here in Switzerland availability look better, but less cards are sold compared to a shop who cover the complete USA, so stock decrease slowly.
Nvidia Ariticle http://www.geforce.com./whats-new/ar...ticle-keynote/ Something is a bit wrong with the Game Graphs mainly Metro 2033.
My question is why has the price of video cards once again shot up into the $1k mark? You know there will be cards out easily at $1100(US), for say EVGA Signature Series 690.
The GTX 295 was $499 and in my view the die shrinks and power savings should be bringing the prices down or equal at least, not up. I mean hell, the first 295's were literally two GTX 275s sandwiched together (except the 275 didn't exist yet). NVIDIA admits Kepler was fundamentally based off Fermi (the die shot is obvious), so what makes Keplers Dual GPU card $300 more than the launch price of the 590? The die shrink is supposed to reduce production cost and the lower TDP should allow less elaborate cooling.
Is there something I am missing?
I think that 690 is is a whopping $1100.00 right now at newegg.....but there are people will to pay that amount. 99.999% would NOT pay for it.....but some will.
Fwiw.....the price seems high to me as well. With most of the 680's going for $499.00 - $600.00.....they essentially doubled the price on that 690.
Although.....from the bench marks I have read about the 690.....it is a TRUE dual 680 gpu card! It performs almost exactly like a set of Sli 680's would. Which is impressive compared to most of the dual gpu cards which come out down clocked.
If I was rich........
