I can boot up high >105 BCLK (with UD7) sometimes after restarted from oc bench, but most of the time it will reset back to 34X and C1 @ boot up.
Imo, its not worth the headache of corrupted bios or os, just use easy tune 6...same result anyway

Yep, 105.00 maxed from bios with UD7 C1 reboots...sometimes 2X or more...
Bios clock 53X105 BCLK enabled
PLL Enabled, other settings disabled
Ram performance Extreme, 7-10-7-25, CL1, I/O lat.1, all subs auto
LLC Level 2, Vcore 1.575V, Dram 1.72V
Use Easy Tune 6 in Windows

Has anyone proven or disproven, that the best way to get to 5 ghz is to get a low vid (default 34x100 like 1.21-1.23 VID) CPU? And/or, that a low vid high temp CPU possibly responds better to voltage than a low temp CPU? (thus making it a screamer on water?). And all high VID chips (1.25+ VID @ stock speeds) should be avoided?

some preliminary results from my newly built rig, havent tried higher till now, but saw a tangible effect of reducing PLL in cpu stability. (CPU PLL in this ss 1.709 in bios -from 1.832 default), with default pll had bsods in this vcore.

Anyone know if Newegg is shipping the "C" batches yet of either the 2600k or 2500k?
If not which batches are comming from the egg at this point?
thanks in advance
Why do you want a "C" batch? They're not really any better.
What you want is a "3" series costa rica cpu :)
Haven't seen many results so far, but mine was doing 5 ghz at 1.404v load.
Kevin, I wish I could help, but I dont even know what to do :(
Even if I bought the CPU for you and had you pay me later, you might wind up getting the malay one instead cuz newegg will NEVER let you choose the batch :( I buy from newegg cuz I get my things next day from UPS ground, since I only live about 20 miles from their warehouse....
And didn't Tankguys turn sour and go under? I remember back during the core 2 days, tankguys was all the rage...
And Mwave...I could catch a bus to Mwave (When I lived in Walnut, which is actually 1 city away from here, I could walk to Mwave in 10 minutes or bike there in 2 minutes), but I'm afraid of the dirty look they will give me if I say "i want to buy a costa rica i7-2600k. And me being black doesn't help one bit, if you're in an asian owned store...
really the only way to get a batch is to go to b&m store and pick through them yourself, or buy a known good clocker from online that has been tested. Sure you usually pay a bit more for a 5.5+ but usually the chances of finding one that good or better require quite a bit of binning.
@ Falkentyne...Its pure luck Fal, even peeps that have an access to bin 100s of 2600K will be lucky to find a single 57X chip.
I try to avoid being near local Micro Center, because I can't resist to gamble and buy another 2600K.......Then look stupid watching it stuck at cursor at 56X:D

I'm sorry, but those curves and that bun are more enticing than that screenshot.
what's the best batch for an i7 2600k? I kinda want to upgrade to an i7 lol
Anyone have luck with offset mode? Even though I got the vcore where I wanted to it would occasionally lock up when changing speeds. I get insane idle wattage off of that. Even with a decent video card it clocked about 75W 4.2Ghz 1.25v on my killowatt. After testing with static vcore though its stable at this
P8P67
2600K @ 4.4Ghz 1.25v
Hyper 212+
maxes out at about 75C under prime
L050A853
This will idle at about 100W. Still pretty good :) It will go higher but then the temps get close to or over 80C.
yay, I now have an ASUS P8P67-M Pro with an i7 2600k and a Gigabyte P67 UD3 with an i5 2500k :p
Don't place all your chips on the C batch. I picked up my 4th i5 2500k on vacation near a Microcenter and grabbed the only C batch they had.
Unfortunately it is just average at best. 12 hours Prime95 stable for 4.6ghz is 1.36v.
