it's prolly called FSB term voltage

if thats the bios limit.. 1.5vtt is good up to around 4.4ghz
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...9&postcount=67
that was on the foxconn p35 mars
thanks.. :) and youre welcome and i wish you good luck :toast:
heres the 5ghz i got on the vapols:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=202987
i never asked/expected anyone to get 5ghz out of their q9650 on air.. at least not on normal air.. but 4.8ghz is more than reachable and im not the only one @
at first i was surprised to get 4.8ghz on air and than even 4.9ghz which is not totally out of reach
good: mobo.. voltage regulation.. cooler.. fans.. will get it there
Very nice job
Q9650 E0 rocks :)
I tried 1.50vtt and up to 1.45vcore on 4.4ghz. vcore droped to 1.39 or so, but i just got blue screen when the os was about to start. :( Abit scared of putting tom mutch volt on the cpu. Should i try 1.5v vcore also just to test it.
thanks..
indeed :)
1.45vcore should do the trick..
whats your pll ?
mine is still @ the default 1.5vpll
try higher pll.. ~1.7v
if that dont do it.. try lower fsb
if that dont it.. wait a second.. your mobo is an x48.. no wonder
p35/p45 are the best s775 mobos ever made :D
pll is on auto, yeah it's an x48. Gonna flash to the newest bios now also. To bad it's not as oc happy as yours. :(
bring it on.. been waitin for you for some time now.. lol :D
do try 1.6vpll
its not your q9650 its the damn x48 thats holding it back
since you run single 4870x2 get a p45 mobo and youll get more out of your q9650
since you got it on ddr3.. heres a p45 ddr3 suggestion:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136061
if the giga ddr3 ep45t extreme would still be availble id recommend that to you
"its not your q9650 its the damn x48 thats holding it back" , Damnit ;) I've used so mutch time on the water cooling install i dont think i'm going to change the mobo.
I'll just have to leave it at 4. something then..
try 475-480fsb for at least an 4.3ghz oc
believe it or not i wasnt able to get this q9650 stable @ 4050 450x9 no matter the volts/settings on x48 dfi/foxconn mobos
Huh?? I went as low as 465fsb but it didn't start. pll 1.6v, vcore 1.440v and vtt 1.50v. It got to the part after the loading screen where the mouse pointer and picture should come. But it was just all black.
I get 22k's on 3dmark 06 in vista 64 so it's not all bad. or im in th 21900's. The 4870 wount clock mutch eighter. Bet it's the mobo there as well.. To bad.. Thank's for the help so far
Im running all volts on auto. 445x9 and the vcore is at 1.3v Temp is at 26-27now
"if the giga ddr3 ep45t extreme would still be availble id recommend that to you" What's the whole name of te giga mobo?? Might have it here still. Gigabyte GA-EP45T-Extreme.? I can get it over here no problem.
sure? lol im the one that was busting my arse to get it to oc @ blackops
higher temps @ default and oc
much higher volts just to boot @ same p45 clocks
settings? the same shalongs.. just higher volts.. + ive tried different gtl settings and whatnot
x48+qx9650
p45+q9650
thanks.. no no dice pot
yeh thats the one if you want to stick to ddr3..
if youre ok with ddr2.. and if you want the most extreme p45 mobo.. one and only: ep45 dq6
i got all three.. ep45t extreme/ep45 extreme but the extreme ep45 is dq6
and yes.. higher video clocks @ p45 than x48
your welcome
+1:up:
I´m not sure how well it play with your 4x1gb kit but the board is good. 500x9 >> vtt 1.30v-1.32v. Be warn though if you using S3 mode a lot stay away from gigabyte p45 board.

awesome 4.5ghz sparda :toast:
Well, X48 Blackops, not easy to handle, i know. But don't forget Blackops will be fine with QX+Extreme Business. Pushed a QX9770 regular water/4800 MHz, 4400-4500 MHz 3D Benchable.

its not about how easy/hard the mobo is to handle..
come on man lets be serious less than 300fsb ??
comparing qx vs q is like apple vs orange
well i can 3d bench my q9650 @ 4.8ghz all day/night on 70 F ambient air:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=206237
Nice stuff napalm, I'll be gunnin' for you're clock record as well on my new p45 T3RS, already reached 500.54fsb with 1.45vcore/1.55 vtt! sitting in 9th over on HW bot but I still have a lot to learn about this board so it will probably be a week or so before I push it all the way :)
thanks.. alright! nice congratz on your 4.5ghz sniipe :toast: at last
good luck!
nice benchies on air napalm.
interesting about the vtts and vcore. I totally agree with you. After fiddling with my q9650 i found that the Vtt is key. Also it has been quite a struggle oc'ing these q9650s with my ASUS P5E3 Premium Wifi@n x48 lol....
These q9650 sure dont mind 1.48+ Vtts!
Most I managed was 490 FSB into Windows with 1:1 FSB:Ram ratio although volts/temp are not easy to swallow :p
From my observations so far I think 4.2 would be good for 24/7 use matched with some good mems/latencies.
I have not yet seen someone with 1800Mhz ram and 4.2+ Ghz Prime Blend 8 hours stable so if anyone has any pics plz share :).
