Aw movieman... Love you too! I might not be able to compete with your SR2 pr0n but I can certainly try!
And wow... I didn't realise that I had so many followers / admirers / people that sound as though they think I do something special? (which I totally don't understand or know if it's just sarcasm so if someone could explain that would be great)
I got nothing done on my build this weekend (shocking I know) but we had to get the Xmas stuff away, clear out the junk from the guest bedroom, go to the dump with it all, organise the office (was meant to re tweak the home network and get the juniper installed but that didn't happen either!), get the new curtain rail and curtains up (which was a disaster since the wall started crumbling) and other stuff which I can't remember... Think it was something over at the parents-in-law to be house...
*sigh* but hopefully I'll find time to do stuff after work this week providing the OT isn't mental...
with so much rads...you can also tune the bios for passive use.... no noise and less heat :D
That would be Bextreme
Although if I could still find a way / be bothered to swap the dual rads I'd still choose 4x quads in the bottom! But my fiancé would hate the noise since there's no controllers out there to tame what would be 28 Kaze 3000's! Then again as you say it could be passive...
if he snores then no need to be passive lol
Perfect argument! I may have to enlist that rule
Batch # is the same as the world record holder... batch # doesn't really make a difference on these chips. It's pot luck.
Currently 1.5v but I've jsut loaded the OC profile and yet to spend time tweaking / bring volts down.
Little Update
So after a beautiful home made curry by my fiance (cheers hunny bun!) I decided it was time to mod!
http://thumbnails38.imagebam.com/172...2172882205.jpg
MMM lamb rogan josh!
Well... I wanted to have some with this update but unfortunately there were some... er... pops, bangs, fizzles and melting!
It was meant to be a video comparing a Kaze 3000rpm to a Denki (200CFM+ model). Unfortunately 4x Kazes (which is lower amps than my Delta) managed to fry a cable...
No Fans / fingers were lost in the making of these photos / videos!
[EDIT] It turns out my chain of 4x Kazes may be dead but I'm covinced now they were dead before the testing...
http://thumbnails43.imagebam.com/172...6172870528.jpg
Where the wires melted so bad that the 2x twisted wires welded themselves to each other
http://thumbnails33.imagebam.com/172...3172870547.jpg
And after much pulling I finally seperated the fan header from the connector to find some nice burns...
http://thumbnails38.imagebam.com/172...d172870578.jpg
Mmmm bubbled melted plastic...
Er yeah so no way was I going to be putting my 3 Amp denki on one of these wires!
So instead I screwed my kazes to the rads for some videos.
http://thumbnails49.imagebam.com/172...2172870467.jpg
Many empty boxes...
http://thumbnails38.imagebam.com/172...a172870478.jpg
Some quad love...
And time for a quick test run! It's unfortunately not all 22x fans running (especially since I found I'm 3x fans short!) since I didn't have enough adapters!!!

Oh... My... God!!! Bex!! Are you building a computer or a wind tunnel!? I cannot wait to see all those rads go into the case!
Jesus... Add a few more Kazes at the bottom and you'll have a hovercraft! :D
wohooo Bex I was following your plans since I was also after a 2011 build and I saw you posting in the same threads I was checking but didn't know that you already got your 3960!
I'm thinking going to the little brother 3930 and then change to the Ivy Bridge E when available :)
I love your extreme style haha, I might end up using some of your ideas like the 4 x SSD Raid ;-)
What is needed to make those work at max performance? I think I won't have much space left on the motherboard to add a controller!
Little Update
Again, it's been a busy weekend with more important jobs to do / people to see. But I've been shopping this weekend and picked up some new tools, trial fitted my radiators and started work on the side panels!
Oooo-i-oooh! What tools did you buy Bex?
Let me show you (although nothing too fancy)
http://thumbnails64.imagebam.com/172...0172870789.jpg
... Some drill bits
http://thumbnails18.imagebam.com/172...8172870795.jpg
... Some putty epoxy (to fill some holes)
And for only £1 (~$1.50 USD)
http://thumbnails43.imagebam.com/172...7172870687.jpg
... a scraper!
What on earth do you need a scraper for Bex?
To clean the side panels! The noise dampening foam was damaged when I bought the case and since I'm running 3000RPM Kazes, I have no need for it really... that and it gives me more room to run cables / squeeze in equipment into the basemen (more side clearance).
I've heard nightmares about trying to get this stuff off... How people have tried razor blades and alcohol based substances and what not and that it's so difficult to shift... so how will a £1 scraper do?
http://thumbnails61.imagebam.com/172...3172870764.jpg
(taking to arms with the scraper - safety goggles in case of bits getting in eyes!)
http://thumbnails31.imagebam.com/172...6172870702.jpg
Well after a few initial scrapes it doesn't appear to be too bad at this...
http://thumbnails63.imagebam.com/172...f172870714.jpg
... and appears to be able to take off the gunky stuff holding it on!
http://thumbnails52.imagebam.com/172...b172870726.jpg
With a little bit of time I seem to have earned some technique and able to strip quite a lot off at time! :D
http://thumbnails56.imagebam.com/172...6172870758.jpg
(Me working hard - nearly done with the first panel)
Just as I'm almost done - disaster strikes!
http://thumbnails63.imagebam.com/172...3172870785.jpg
My trusty £1 blade has broken trying to get the difficult stuff off... :(
But it's ok, the blade has done well. Almost finished the whole panel!
http://thumbnails61.imagebam.com/172...c172870773.jpg
Just got to get the last of the sticky stuff off / wipe it down ready for cuts and primer!
So what are you gonna do now Bex?
First I'm going to go and do my nails! :P But I think I'll buy another 2x of those blades I think (£2 isn't going to break the bank!) and maybe see if I can get something to help strip the sticky stuff off or at least losen it or clean the last of it residue off...
Since I couldn't do any more of the case panels, I thought I'd have a go with the barbs and making sure I had all the required pieces to put the the radiator (engine) in the bottom of the case. After playing around with multiple combos I decided on this...
http://thumbnails64.imagebam.com/172...0172870605.jpg
Quick view from the right...
http://thumbnails50.imagebam.com/172...c172870640.jpg
Quick view from the left...
http://thumbnails65.imagebam.com/172...f172870654.jpg
Quick view from the top... (make sure the spacers for the drain pipe don't hold the bottom radiators too little/far apart)
http://thumbnails50.imagebam.com/172...5172870678.jpg
God bless BP Crystal links!
The drain in the bottom will be another 90 degree rotary that actually goes on the bottom of the case. This will the drain is at the lowest point should I need to drain the system ;)
So until next time, I'll leave you with another image from the side of the engine!

imagebam ftw!
Seriously. In the day and age of places like imagebam imgur or a hundred others oh why Bex why? :(
I no see no pictures?
Guys I've got more photos to upload so I'll shift them all over to imagebam when I do those!
You did say the thread was popular on text but this is insane! I'll wait until you've moved them eh?
Also checking in so you can blame me for drill use in public ...
