hipro, i tried touching a DMM against jumper pin 4 and it wasn't reading it correctly, unless it was touching something else..
is this supposed to give a reading, or am i probing it wrong?

really wanna try 400fsb jumpers..
my zalman 7000alcu's clips (the things that go across the retention bracket and ther screws go into) are busted, the thread is all screwed up so when i tighten, it just lets go and wont screw in :(
now back to stock cooler :(

-Banias B1 400 MHz uses Vcca = 1.8 V. Page 25.
So the adapter seems to designed for the latest 533 MHz Dothans which is the only type that uses 1.5 V only, you're actually overvolting it. This could mean that you will see the greatest increase in speed with older 400 MHz Dothans and Banias, since they are designed for 1.8 V and gets undervolted in the CT-479.
I'm not telling you that it won't work or something like that, and you've all overvolted CPU's before. I just thought that you should be aware of the fact that you're doing a 20 % Vcca overvolt.
hipro5: Could one put all the capacitors on an extra board and then just solder a few wires to the appropriate spots? I ask this because the SMD-thingies are order-only stuff at my local shop and this way I could make the mod easy for me. If it's possible, which side of each added capacitor is the "hot" side so I get the polarity correct?

Way more hassle, I dunno. Just bring one clip to a hardware store and buy it. Put the nuts on the underside with some glue so you won't drop them all the time.
