i like the shape
and i wonder if there is more profit per chip in those 100$ 250s vs 200$ 460s
Like I said some while ago:
Things that would survive a nuclear holocaust: roaches, Lemmy Kilmister and G92.
that's almost necrophile if you ask me :D
So... Who's gonna break it to Zotac that they just wasted a buttload of money on a card nobody wants?
Releasing a product like this now reminds of the story of Japanese soldiers on isolated islands not knowing the war was actually over long after it was.
Like these engineers have been holed up in the labs conjuring up this product without any communication to the outside world.
9800gx2, release date March 18th 2008.
interesting layout. although coming out with it now is questionable when fermi cards are starting to hit mainstream.
and although they have some nice non-ref designs sometimes, i will never guy another zotac product. why come out with stuff when they can't even support the older things? i have a card in RMA for almost 3 months now and no replacement shipped yet. their website says turnaround time is 1 month max....
Will take a look if its under $90...Quote:
The Zotac dual-core GTS250 edition will be available pretty soon with a reasonable price
L33t physx card? Can't think of any other use for it... move along, nothing to see here.
One thing I do like on it is the pwm section and its cooling. Looks tough.

I agree this card is silly but comparing gt250 to 8800gts 512mb is even sillier. It's like comparing 1985 Ford Taurus to 2010 model and claiming they are the same (yes I used a car analogy, live with it!). G92 came a long way whether you wanna accept it or not.
Cool, Nvidia might rename this to 500 GTS.
G92 will forever live on.
