AMD 7nm degredation?
I saw this message posted on buildzoid's youtube channel.
"Ok so it looks like I've managed to degrade my 3700X as it crashes on MSI mobos even at stock and PBO doesn't work on it at all now."
He continues in the comments that it's the "upper 1.3v range."
Have any of you guys experienced this yet or is his chip just a fluke?

I damaged my 3700X out of the box, I assumed from mishandling. I was not able to get any OC results done or run at stock. Setting up it was ok, when I switched over to cascade I was able to run at a little over 5Ghz once. Motherboard was a MSI GODLIKE X570, never got results posted with this board as I was not willing to risk another CPU. Threw the mobo and CPU back in the box and didn't look back.
Looking at bot now, I did not get a single score posted.
The CPU still works, I never cared to see to what extent.

Now I'm curious what you did to damage the 3700x, lol. At least I'm hoping for a good story.

There could be lots of issues with overclocking the controller chip, then that causing issues with the 7nm parts, or issues with secondary voltages being to high with the way voltages scale.
There is really no telling until the chips are older.

I own a few Ryzen CPUs Only two 7nm. I've pushed them both and haven't seen any issues yet. I've actually seen improvements, mostly due to BIOS updates and Windows updates. We'll have to see over time though.
