Latest SS by Johann

Been working on this latest singlestage, turned out really nice

Specs:

Compressor: Danfoss NL11F
Evap: Chilly1 rev e (Courtesy of Gray Mole :D)
Captube: 2.8m 0.031
Gas R402a
Controller: G-Froster Xe

Temps:

idle: -59c
160w resistor load for 24hours: -42c
150w resistor load for 24hours: -44c

I expect to see around -46c to -50c on the evap with average overclocked AMD loaded :D Should be around -20c core with IHS on.

No load and load temps are ideal, and the layout looks great :woot:

I dont have pics of the loadtester in current form but here was the original. Since then the surface was lapped to mirror finish. Also uses some heatpaste under resistors to make sure heat transfer good.

Also used to be around 185 watts but I swapped a 100 ohm resistor for 150 ohms to give a total of 350 ohms and 160w at 237v

Its insulated of course, the outside of insulation is always room temp so not alot of heat getting lost there. I suppose they can never be perfect but its close enough for me. A real CPU rarely puts out 160w anyways and there are also some heatloss there through the mobo so it equals out I would think

Yeah Boardy I didnt use the black one as I had a little more space to play with and this one I used has a little better capacity so I can use a more silent fan to match the silent NL11f

I don`t think so, 160W dummy load is very big (it`s like >200W CPU), unit must have some nice power to hold this load.

Temps are very good, that same I can write about Johann`s SS :)

I agree LukeXE, I think you will see temps of around -50c on the average overclcoked AMD loaded, but nice thing is it will hold hotter CPUS like X2 and P4 to a nice temp

Little update..

I have changed resistors on my tester and it outputs 150w now, gave it a go and get around -44c loaded with 150w

Frosters have arrived :D Cases shipped and should be here before the weekend.

Also I am not sure but I am pretty sure that 150w is a good load to tune as few overclocked AMD CPU's generate 150w. Some x2 maybe a little more but in general it is less than 150w so tuning for 150 then a little more is a good average.

How did u make this one? What kind of pipe bender? Is it Ø10mm. pipe?

And nice work.

That was made using a PVC pipe. It is 1/4" (6.4mm I think) soft dehydrated copper.

Simply take copper and bend it around any pipe or round object. Sometimes I use my MAPP or Deodorant bottles :D
