Enermax Liberty 500W

hi guys, here I am trying to show you the new product coming from Enermax.
Let's start with some pics.

It arrives in a carton box, and all the infos are written outside as usual.
But let's open and see what's inside.

from the left: power chord, manual, power supply (w/o cables), and a misterious black thing....:D:D

Inside we find all the cable collection...according to the news tendences, the cables are not connected to the power supply, but user can connect them when necessary.
And that's all a gift for a good lookin and well ordered case !!

A detail of the connector: ATX24 pin is a composite connector = 20 + 4 pins.
Then there's a tachimetric connector for the fan, and a dual +12 v (2x 4pin)

Let's take a look at the power supply itself: as in most modern models, we just have a single big fan...

Let's start, looking ath the BIOS screen compared with my digital multimeter:
There's a certain difference ....but all the values are above nominal value:

Next step: a comparison with Smartguardian tool in Win:

We still get errors between mobo's readings and multimeter, but still very good values.

Let's get under stress:

Here's a prime95 session @ 2700 mhz, while I'm doing all my silly things.....chat, mails...and so on...:)

we just measure a little reduction on +5 but Liberty 500 still shows he's always over the nominal values...

I relly wanted to stress a "medium" system, so only 2x80 gb HDD and a DVD reader, but with 2 VGA cards and a 1.55 vcored overclock

For sure we can think of any overstressing tests, but a prime working on 100% on CPU and a normal use of the PC in the same time is really more of what a normal user could do any day.

PSU is really good IMHO, withous any voltage reductiion and anyway never under nominal values.
in the past, one at least of the 3 values could be "under"...not now..;)

I started this test thinking of a PSU more oriented for guys loving nice to see case.....rather than overclock oriented config.
But I have to contraddict myself......we surely don't have any trimmer for pumpin up voltages....Enermax is solid and conservative in this choice.
But..who needs to pump up...if the values are already good ????

I'm really satisfied of this PSU....very low noise, very ordered case w/o too many cables.......

sounds nice Im looking more in the price range of around 80ish what would you recomend in that price range?
I have a fort 530 that I will be replacing, so hopefully it can run more stable rails that my aging fort 530

Very big quality difference between Enermax and PCP&C ... Though Enermax/Antec have that rails thing on the nose...with Antec offering up to 3 rails and Enermax offering up to four 12v rails.
