7016 (3DMark2005) puts it in the ballpark with a 7800GT, maybe a little behind. Babelfish translation points out that according to ATI driver optimizations will increase performance at launch by 5-15 percent, meaning ~7300-8000 3DMarks.

7k stock is certainly not bad...but it will need to be around $399 to $349 at launch for it to sell...I'm just hoping these oc well enough to reach ~8k on air for 24/7 use.
Does this mean:
X1800 XT 16 x00MHz x00MHz 512MB GDDR3 $599 - 8k n 05
X1800 XL 16 550MHz 625MHz 512MB GDDR3 $499 - 7k in 05
X1800 Pro 16 500MHz 500MHz 256MB GDDR3 $449 - 6.5k in 05
X1800 LE 12 450MHz 450MHZ 256MB GDDR3 $349 - 6k in 05
 ??? wtf...I was hoping 8.5k for the XT, 7.5k for the XL, 7k for the Pro and 6.5k for the LE...considering its nex gen hardware :(

hmm 7015 vs 7307...
damn, i was hoping competition would be closer :(
would i be jumping to conclusions to say that the 7800GT is the best card to get(price/performance ratio)?
with rebates a 7800GT is $329... that is a KILLER price.
the XL will have 16 pipes just like the XT will right? This doesn't bode well for the r520 series...
my prediction: only a few dies will qualify for XT speeds, thus meaning low quanity of the XTs and high price of the XT's. I think this will illuminate how severe the manufacturing issues were. The higher the price, the worse it was back in May.
i bet the XL's will be $400, if they're more ATI must have some issues at the plant.
Ati must be in a tough spot... If the r520XT is slower than an 7800GTX, who would buy one? Why sell it? But they've also put so much capital into it already...
i don't think the r520 will be faster than the 7800GTX
X1800XL fillrate 16 x 550mhz = 8800
7800GT fillrate 20 x 400mhz = 8000
yet the GT wins in 3dmark05 with 300 points...
X1800XT fillrate 16 x 600mhz = 9600
7800GTX fillrate 24 x 430mhz = 10320
it really doesn't look good for the XT...
at least it comes with 512MB of ram though...
i bet the r520XT won't even break 8k
pity it doesnt mention the core ram freq....
coz according to my source, ati has sacrifice the TDP for yield already
wonder how far this baby will clock

Again, we all know this is non-official stuff so, we'll see. But I still have a feeling that ATI's new offering will equate to nothing more than a minor speedbump, and a speedbump in nVidia's parking lot at that !! :slapass:
(I am NOT an nVidia fAnBoY. Check my sig)
that ati card are long one like the 7800.
amm that is very disappointment form ati...
You guys are missing something: the 7800GT benched is overclocked. A 7800GT at 450/1050 gets around 7,200 in 3DMark05:
Extremetech: XFX GeForce 7800 GT at 450/1050
At default speeds (400/500) the 7800GT gets around 6,600 in 3DMark'05:
X-Bit Labs: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT at 400/500
If the X1800XL benches are true, with it scoring ~7,000 at stock speeds, then it fares very well against the GT.
Also, if any of you can read Chinese, you'll notice the reviewer stating
Whether this is due to a driver release in conjunction with the R5xx / CF release, or a newer board revision, he doesn't say.Quote:

I don't think it matters much in 05 about the different rigs, not enough to make up 500 marks in 05 in any case....
I'm still more curious about the final price of these things...

p.d. i stil can't find where it says its a xfx card
Where at HKPEC did it say the 7800gt was overclocked? That was running stock!
Also, ugly, 3dmark05 IS rather cpu dependant as well as gpu, tests 2 and 3 are definitely.
If this is the XL, then I don't know how the XT is going to catch the GTX.
There's been a few driver updates since the GT released, all of them increasing it's score. I'd imagine by now they've easily gotten past 500 points on an increase.
As for the fillrates, there's a reason NVidia does better in 05, their second shader pipe... Same as the extra vertex shaders gave ATi here last gen, the 2 more on the x1800 just can't keep up with an extra shader pipe on the 7800.
05 is pretty CPU depedent at over 10k Shamino had a graph a while back were he gained more by upping CPU speed than he was gaining from overclocking his 7800gtx cards in 05.
I dont realy believe that this is X1800 i mean , i dont SEEE ANYWHERE that IS X1800 , there is no ATITOOL , even im 3D05 they BLURed the card... so i cant say that THIS IS x1800 . for me this is not!
Yeah I understand things get CPU dependant after a while, I just didn't think it made much diff at these clocks....(on 05)
And as people have stated.... we know nothing yet.. it's another unnoficial review.... countdown is on though so we won't have long to wait.... :) :toast:
The only thing I'm the least bit concerned about with the final release is that they over optimize the drivers to make a big difference.... that would really suck if IQ suffered... In any case they are hard pressed to match the price/bang for the buck value of a 7800GT.... Nvidia may even drop the price just to put the squeeze on ATI when the R520 is finally released.
ATI is vulnerable from a business stand point, they can't take much of a price war right now. They're nowhere near bankrupt but a couple more quarters of below average earnings might result in some senior folks being canned .....
God Bless Competition :)

:slap:
Dude , let's say that i dont believe to anything RELATED with internet withaout something more than FOR ME basic standarts... there is too many people outside trying to get some atention , producing FAKE results and fake benches so... for me this is not real. yea the card look longer than any ATI at this point but... WHY he blure the card in 3dmark? if the problem is NDA... LOL he already screw it up with posting this site. :toast:
I believe nda and ati would have a problem if they published something saying blatantly x1800xl is beaten by 7800gtx. :stick: especially as it hasnt been launched yet. :DQuote:

<5% difference between the two products that are positioned just below the flagship. I'd say that this looks promising, a couple of board revisions, and driver releases, and those two cards will be a dozen points appart.
