G.SKILL RipJawsX 16GB (4X4GB) 2200MHz Intel SandyBridge Series + Maximus IV Extreme

Hey folks,i just got 2 kits from G.skill last week one of them 16GB kit 4 X 4GB :D and finally i found time to take some pic for u guys, in the next days and after holiday i'll test them and show how this 2200MHz CL9-11-9-28 16GB 1.65V Red XLD + Fan can go, hope to show some nice bandwidth :up:

What can you tell us about SB mem clocking? The BIOS could use some improvements, I bet.
And suppose the s1155 results are coming soon, too? :)

already ordered retail 2400 and 2600k but for holidays they don't want ship it :mad:

memories are 100% compatible with last year platforms, if i get time i'll test them on AMD too before SB ;)

they are actually trying to use Black PCB, but it's depend on disponibility, if u check other thread opened by TINTIN he got one kit green and one kit Black :D

Wow, this is will be the first report 16GB test on Sandy, that i will use on daily.

please report with bios setting, the final installation with dual fan of the thermalright, and height of the those ripjaws also. And the clearance of that thermalright from heatsink fin/fan to below, please
Is there any issues such as cold restart problem?

anyway the fastest compatibility list for 4gb stick on the mainboard website:
Gigabyte: - Ocz OCZ3P2000LV8GK run at 1866
Asus: - G.skill F3-16000CL6Q-8GBPIS run at 1866
- G.skill F3-16000CL7Q-8GBFLS run at 1866

I am confusing whether choose the G.skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 1.5v (validated runs on msi /asus QVL at 1600) or Team Xtreem LV 2000MHz CL9 1.65v (not listed).

I heard this rumor that the reason they are called rip jaws is because one of the gskill engineers was drunk and accidentally ripped one out of the board while the board was still in windows and his jaw dropped in awe because the rig didn't bsod or freeze up it just kept going as if nothing happened... They were originally supposed to be called "thunder sticks" after one of the first Iron Maiden drummers but they ended up calling them rip jaws instead. After seeing these results I would've gone with "thunder sticks". Its never too late Gskill. ;)


Thunderstick (aka Barry Graham or Barry Purkis) was a drummer for the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden briefly in 1977. He was later in the band Samson.[1] He wore a mask onstage much like a professional wrestler and sometimes played inside a cage. His stint in Maiden was left notoriously short due to him being incapable of playing properly while intoxicated (at one show he actually fell asleep during a song).

yeah just shows that these kits can hit some nice ram frequencies but it comes down to the bclk limitations of the specific CPU
