Nice tessellation improvements, but not enough to catch up with Fermi. Good pricing. Outperforming GTX570 by 10-20% at high resolutions or when AA+AF are enabled.

pls don't need quote whole topic ^^ IXBT review is sux, they used old drivers :( + don't test most of recent games... waiting for more reviews...

IXBT used 10.11 drivers = FAIL
Also notice 6950 is faster than 6970 in some benchmarks. That's wrong.

They used the drivers that came with the cards (8.79.6.0 or 8.79.6.2, both are 10.11, I believe the latter comes with the cards). This is what most people are going to do, aren't they?
10.12 came only yesterday, clearly not nearly enough time to re-bench everything. And AFAIK 10.12 does not support 69xx without mods...

you better be prepared to keep the first post updated, or we are going to give it to onethreehill.

/me have right to sleep :P

If you release a driver 30 hours before NDA, you can't complain if half of review sites do benches with the old driver.
-
You guys should let onethreehill make these threads. He is much better at updating the list.

Usual test version leaks, not from reviewers, obviously. Someone might re-bench the cards in a week or so if this driver is so much better (which is unlikely). We had a similar situation before. :)

Fake.

so what I'm getting is that the performance food chain looks like this: 5970 > gtx580 > 6970 > gtx570 > 6950 for the foreseeable future, with a swap from 5970 to 6990 at some point next year. Now the relative value of each card is something else all together ;)

Either that, or you can get 2-3-4 69x0 cards now. :yepp:

Dual GPU at the top, which will be displaced by the 6990 soon.

5970 = dual GPU, 6970 is a single GPU.
