It seems rather obvious attempt of G.Skill that the color is very match ASUS ROG MB .

have you done any testing with cas6, how high can you clock it with something like 6-7-6 timings? would also be interested to compare results w/ the 7-9-7 2000 settings

Can we tighten up that tRCD a bit? That's a bit of a sore point for AMD, the RAM looks more like it was designed with P55 in mind than 890FX. +1 for 6-7-6 testing though.

He has a very valid point. the lower you drop the NB the higher you can clock ram.....Even on a stock cooler when i do reviews I at least try to push to 2500 NB. Reason being ram may not pass at same speeds it passed at 2000NB.

Daft Question time . . .

I'm running 1333Mhz @ 7-7-7-24, does 2000Mhz @ 7-9-7 timings improve fps performance in games as well as other software? with 890FX?

I did check with a 790FX using 2000Mhz 9-9-9-24 OCZ Blade sticks a year ago at various timings but all results didn't make even 1fps difference only fractions.

Hyper PI when running 6 cores, RAM maximum load is only about 3GB, to a more stringent test set Hyper PI when running 12 cores, RAM maximum load of about 5.6GB( Currently set RAM-DDR3-2000 CL7 total size 8GB) :welcome:

800 chipset, but more like Gigabyte UD7 or CH4Formula. It's been done on 965's and 555's but only on those boards. I think the ASUS 890GX might be able to clock that high also.

Yep.

I'm RMA'ing my Gigabyte board due to some problems I'm having.

This bouad has a 940 Mhz wall, however it's a Revision 1.0 board. Rev 2 is already out. If I get a Rev. 2 board back I'll be sure to test ram clocks.

It seems that the IMC of AMD Phenom II X6 is better than Phenom II X4 . :up:
