Yes, but special backplate is in development.

Special as in water cooled backplate, or special air cooled copper backplate?

Any reasons besides aesthetics for a new backplate? Is it going to resemble 4870X2 backplate's design?

As promised, here are a couple of pictures of our HD 5970 prototype. It hasn't been nickel plated yet, and the stainless steel cover was temporarily removed to show the guts.

I think that me and I dare to say that other vendors Representative here better like e-mails as they are easyer to follow up and archive.
