Five sectors with five heat pipes in "U" @ 6 mm diameter ,with the sizes 130X100X158mm the cooler has a mass of 870gr(with fan) and the new Scythe Mugen2 promise to be up to 10% better than the legendary Infinity and he works in socket Intel 478, LGA 775/1366 and AMD 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+.
For Nehalem plataform you need to remove the original back-plate and replace with the Mugen's back-plate and for noobs like me it will take ages to disassemble and replace :rofl:

Methodology
Please keep this in mind when looking at the results.
the room temperature was measured at 25C for all tests, but temp fluctuations, different mounting and user error can account up to 1-3C of inaccuracy in the obtained results.
System was stressed by running 4 x orthos for 20mins the CPU temperature was measured with Coretemp and lowest (idle) and highest(load) value recorded.

Mugen2 can not beat the overpriced(USD100.00+ in JP) TRUE-1366 but considering the Mugen2’s cooling performance, the price in Japan of just $54.00 makes it a fair deal.

I'd like to see how much that changes idle & load temps.

The scythe is not a bad buy at all considering the 2C difference, at least lets hope so. As long as it stays under 60 USD, its good.

looks like it'll be the buy with the proc next year

the fact that you can put fans on any part of the cooler makes it a good cooler for am2 systems which can only mount in one position.

three out fans and one intake fan. sound like fun.

i wonder if that would actually work out tho. the fans might just end up countering each other out.

i use sythe mine and i can tell you sythe coolers are very good +1 when i upgrade mudgen 2 for me i think.

Xigmatek and CO. will probably release awesome bang for the buck HDT coolers for this socket soon.

As I can see new Infinity has a higher fins density than its elder version, doesn't it?

Good deal, glad to see people putting things to the test like this. Looks like the TRUE is still a better choice if you're willing to pay more.

I think you can get Infinity, one more fan for it and probably you'll get the same perfomance as TRUE.
