Dtek Uni-sink (Rev 2) SLI Installed With Pictures

Making a 2nd machine, so I dusted off two of my MCW60s and decided to put them to use along with a Storm CPU waterblock.

After getting tired of all the little ram sinks that goes with a MCW60, decided to give the revised Dtek Uni-sink a try. Never had the Rev 1, but the Rev 2 looked a lot better in terms of stiffness and more fins over that hot little naked chip all by itself.

Only the four uni-sink holes need to be drilled out to accept the 2-56 screws from the G80 mounting kit. That is all. The nuts and washers clamp the uni-sink to the board and now puts pressure on the perimeter ram chips which was a criticism of the first uni-sink.

I really like the new uni-sinks. With as much surface area as those things have, that must cool exceptionaly well.

Just curious... what kind of temps are you seeing? I see you have the CPU and both card on one Radiator? Is that the 120.2 radiator?

What CPU is in that loop and how much voltage are you feeding it?

How thick are the thermal pads on those?
Contact should at least be fine ;)
The thickness of the sink is really good... lots of heat absorbing going on there :up:

For what it is (al) and what has been done to it. That is expensive.

Those do look rather nice.. I'm not fond of the other sinks that can be used along with the mcw60, so this is a great alternative.

It's cheaper (or the same price) as buying individual RAMsinks, and when you compare the price of the Uni-Sink to those, it really is a fairly large chunk of metal. Not to mention the fact it has a much larger surface area than RAMsinks would, so it'll cool a fair bit better, too. IMO probably quite worthwhile. Now that I've seen one installed on an 8800GTX, I wish I had bought it instead of RAMsinks for when I put my 8800GTX on water.

Very true... I just hope the TIM on it is of good quality and not crap like the standard nV cloth-like pads drenched in some white goop...

The thermal pads are not the "cheese cloth" type that come stock with the NV air cooler. The unisink thermal pads are more like what you find under an ASUS MOSFET sink - kind of rubbery material that deforms. I would say about 1mm thick. Contact was actually good and I noticed a lot less bend than with the EK FC block.

Testing at stock right now. With a PA120.2, Yate L's@12V and a e6850, I idle at 40°C (both core temps and GPU diode in everest) and load Prime95 to 50°C.

I see no real way of telling if the uni-sink does anything for temps though. As long as it does not crash in ATItool, I good with it.

Anyone know how to stress test continuously both video cards at the same time?

you could always replace with some other thermal pads...

Really the issue with Rev 1 was the contact. If that is fixed (be nice to see a few more samples) then things are looking up. It's got better cooling than individual sinks and also reinforces the strength of the card itself.

Seems like a decent item and the price isn't horrible, imo.

This question is completely off topic, but how do you fill your loop, do you have a dedicated fill port?

The MCW60 looks real nice with those Fuzion unisinks.
