Definetly a bios issue I'd say, same results when you try something higher like 258mhz or higher ??
now OPP you talking about actual memory speed not fsb right?
because the one i am playing on tonight is up to 275 fsb.
please excuse me my friend i am a AMD man so i am lost on the intel box.last one i overclocked was a pIII 500.
yea he's talking memory speed.
I did a quick look around and found a post asking the same thing opp. Of course nobody could answere the post but he had the same problem. Running the ram at 255 ok, 256 and above no go !

:D, yea this straight memory speed 1:1, 256/256.

Excellent my friend, just what I needed to show Abit.Quote:

Opp, now that you mention it I was testing my new IC7 board that I just picked up with 4 sticks of XMS 3500 and I couldn't get it to post any higher than 256. It would post, but would freeze at the same place that yours did.
did you mean 256 ???Quote:

255mhz 1:1 2.5-4-4-7 2.8v is stable but 256mhz :(

chainbolt managed to get 258mhz with IC7-G and ADATA PC4000 at 2.8v though
Thats what Opp needs to hear !!!
Oops I fixed it. Yes I did.
Are you sure he got it through the bios or was it on the fly?Quote:

I'm at 260 with setfsb right now.

memtest stable @258mhz at 2.8v on IC7-G on P4P800/P4C800 same memory does 274-283mhz at 2.85vQuote:

None of our test boards will do it 1:1 same exact error
I can do 260 if I back off on the timing, 249 1:1 was max @ 5-2-2-2
so far only way is set fsb :)
Notice youre bandwidth going to hell past 265:)
I think its just the apps not doing something right for mem results
But then again could be a bios thing as well it may switch it back to 5:4 wiitout telling you, and that would make almost every 3700+ stick not boot
btw try using 3-8-4-4 it sounds crazy but its fast as hell at 250 fsb sandra buffered@ 64xx/65xx and pc mark of 12k+
Aida 32 will show gains where Sandra doesn't.Also cachemen still functions correctly.
Do you think this is an intentional limit imposed by Abit?
intended probably not.. for me 2.78v vdimm probably limits me to 255mhz but then againQuote:

Mine is the same. 256 it locks at post.
Guess it is a problem, does the CW offer a positive ram divider, so you can try the ram at a lower fsb to take the sheer power constraint off the board?
i.e. 4:5 divider 202fsb/258ram?
with mi samsung pc 2700 from bios i can't pass 256...from win by set-fsb i can hit 259@2,9v
Opp where did you get the SETFSB for the IC7?Quote:

No officail release for IC7 but the P4C version works with most CW/SD boards
