2.6v = Highest Rated volt ? Geil PC2-9600es first review

I recieved a small pack...seems a New Year Gift from Geil :D

Still under test, not officially issued, so "ES" on the mark :p:

how's the performance ?
bellow are the test on a un-moded P5B-Deluxe.
bios set = 2.45v, read from meter=2.43v.

1200 4-4-4-x pi_32m @ 3.6Ghz = 13min01sec, fast ? :D

lol.......600mhz club is not hard for those rams about 300usd+ .
differences are the timings, volts and stability :)

Geil really crazy these days, but franckly speaking, I personally expecting Geil's EVO to come out more than this 9600 :D

I asked because they don't mention about using fan on their website. That's for their current highest rated kit PC8500 2.4~2.5V

Imagine what will happen if you don't use fan at 2.5V and how long they will survive. Besides this kit does not have any special heatspreaders like Dominator, for instance

does Geil give Lifetime warranty ?

Probably the highest binned stuff from manufactures out there at the moment.

I know default volt is 1.8v, but what if these have binned at higher volts? Don't you think if they were created that way, they may as well adapt to more juice?

Unless under the hood is not GKX and something else, which generates less heat? But what's the chance hehe?

for ram cooling, I think if volt>2.2v, ramclk>1000mhz, must have a ram_cooling_fan.
since it's an ES product, I think geil would include special ram cooling device for the Retail product like corsair8888c4 and Team-9600. :D

The 9260 does not even work so I Can only guess how this will work :(.

Yes they give life time warrantee but inside Europe only 15 years (max allowed there)

By then consumers might have already moved on to 64 core CPU on 1nm process already, hell knows what Ram it will use at that stage >_>

Victor, any link to where to reseller in US? Also, great sticks thus far, keep on pushing them and try to get 1300 :toast:

So, these are rated at 1200MHz 2.65v? If so, what exactly makes these better than brands like OCZ, KHX, and Team who have released sticks with these speeds at 2.45v? And seriously, do they really think 2.65v is going to allow their sticks to last much longer than a month tops?

Still an ES it might die in testing or they cancel the project
Right know no body reported (or announced) DDR1200C4 only Kingston says 1200C5
Any way CellShock or team GKX + 8 layers PCB better than any ram in the market (team not released yet)

its Sample ES from Geil

A kit pc9280 avaibility a few week ;)

The 9280kit may not exist since thereisn't place on Geil package (8500 and 9600 but no 9280)

that's true they had to make a sticker and put it on the back, probably was just a limited supply
