How is different than the 1101 already out?
Asus posted 1101 a couple of weeks ago then pulled it and now its back as "Updated". No word on the difference but some users were having issues with the originally posted version before it was pulled.

What site are you going to where it shows it as updated?
I went to the asus global->support and they still have 0801 in the bios download section.
i went to the global site too and clicked on the download link at top. This fired up another browser session where you can search for the type of MB you have. It was under the ALL catagory
Asus Update is shows the same information as the "old" 1101...

ftp://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/s...20DH%20Deluxe/
But when you extract it, the rom file shows 8/8.Quote:

Here open a Command Prompt box and type "comp /?" or "fc /?" and do that damn comparison to see any difference between the old & new even its same version.
Some "Extreme Overclockers" huh ?
It would be VERY bad on ASUS' part to release 2 different BIOS versions under the same exact name-regardless of how short the first one was posted or how small the changes are/were.
I doubt it's different. This would be VERY bad revision history practice. Of course it is ASUS after all...
That said though, someone be the guinea pig and try this sucker out!:)
Hmm.
Well, i've got it on my P5W DH and i'm only seeing 360 FSB on water @ 1.485V
I've tried all the fixes on the Probelms/Fixes thread. I'll have to double check my 6600's stepping when I get back home, or get this stupid attachement ot open. Freakin' work email strips anything useful coming in I swear.
This is a bit OT, but I just got my P5W DH today and there isn't a sticker on the box that tells what bios is loaded. I'm not gonna have my e6600 for another week or so. Is there any way to tell what bios I have? It does say on the label that it supports core2duo end core2extreme. I've just seen other folks in here say that some had stickers that stated what bios was loaded.
Ain't on the box - just on the BIOS chip itself. And it's usually wrong anyway. If it says 0701, you're good for C2D.Quote:

thats why you call it '1102'
it's the same bios, the file was never removed from FTP, only on the website
OH MY GOD
This is not good
Just updated the bios with this 1 in EZ Flash in the bios.
It erased the bios and when it went to read the floppy bios file it said could not read file. GREAT 3 day old board and a dead mobo.
Im so sick of Asus, ive had nothing but problems with this board since new, and not even overclocked at all. Installed with default settings in bios all safe settings. Still was unstable as hell.
So i have a 60 mile drive tomorrow to take the board back and im changing it for something else.
Please recommend a new motherboard manufacturer for my C2D
Many Thanks in advance
Ugh, still got the rig on?Quote:

Because the filename is too long. You should have type "dir" in dos and it would show as p5wdh1~1.rom and you just type that instead.
Anyway.. have you tried the bios recovery tools explained in the manual???
Before the MB bios was wiped, the seting in bios were set to boot from harddisk only.
I was using the EZ Bios update thing in the bios when it did the following.
1. Erased the bios
2. Failed to read floppy drive new bios file.
3. rebooted machine and it does nothing.
4. Inserted Asus CD and it does nothing
Anything else i can do....Thanks for the advice
have you tried the thing where u're supposed to leave a floppy with the bios file name p5wdh.rom in for 5 minutes????????
This is why I tell people to use afudos :)
