7950GX2 ...anatomy/bench@quad

Let's start with some specs and inside photos of the 7950GX2 card....

I got only 14..:p:

Firts of all the gap between the cards is 1.5cm...:9..and the cards are palying idle to 67C....i tried with a delta fan 120mm and the temp went down to 42C..:D

The setup is the following..
CPU : Intel 830(955XE couldn't boot on this mobo... :( )
Mobo: Gigabyte 8N SLI QUAD ROYAL
Memory : Twinmoss ddr2 5-5-5 2 x 512 533mhz(G.Skill PC8000 4-4-4-5 could't boot too and with this mobo , every memory module i tried , it freezes at 260 fsb....nF4 for intel sucks..:( )
PSU : Tagan 1100

It took me a little time to figure out how i could play Quad SLi...i found the way...but the result with this CPU ''botllenecking'' to the cards sucks!(i will upload them in a little cause they are on an other disk)

With 4 Cards no luck to play Octal SLI..neither Quad...i only could play single SLi , that means 1 card...:(

i don't think it will ever work....plus the drivers are not OK yet..:D

And GoriLLakos ca we have big size pic of that bridge - both sides please :)
I beleive this is the only miss with this card, cos of 3rd party cooling incompatability.

Benches in 5 minutes...but they are dissapointing...

im confused though......aside from the octa sli fun....why are people having problems with getting quad sli running and getting good results??

havnt they been selling quad sli in pre-built rigs for some time now??

no drivers yet for octal SLI and I doubt there will be unless custom made

@eva2000 i have every kind of cpu...but mobos not...the motherboards are the probs....i will try tomorrow with an amd setup..:D

@ludeboy12..i had bad results cause of the 830...:wth: :sick: :wth:

He probably means about octal SLI... + plus the drivers for 7950 are very new...they have been only released 4 days...:)

OHHH MY FRIGGEN GOD!!!!!! I've got 4 empty pcie slots here waiting for you to send me some cards for testing. Hell, if I have to, I'll have cryotek build me a quad head just for those cards ;) :D

wow 8600 in 3dmark05 lol. Presumably thats the 2.8ghz P4 doing its thing? Any chance of overclocking the 830 a bit, see just how cpu limited that thing is lol.
