That is sweet dood!! Show some pics of the mods, I have my Asus P4G8X comin tomorrow... :D
I'll take some shots tommorow and I'll post them..... ;)
Cool thanks.. What mods were done??
Vmem 3.2Volts - Vagp 1.85Volts - Vio 1.75 Volts and FULL loaded with capacitors and heatsinks ALL OVER it.......
WOW!! thats incredible bro. Nice work
I hope these mods are somewhat easy to do.. Your It7Max2 vmods werent for the faint of heart..
hipro5, could you please run a super pi 1m benchmark?
whoa holy mother of god. Impressive memory scores. Keep up the good work hipro.
Damn, I wish I could afford GB :toast:
Great score m8
some unbuffered benches for us? ;)
hipro5...you are without a doubt the master of memory benching!
I'm always in awe of your memory bandwidth no matter what board of the month you're on.
Great work (as usual).
:hehe:
Is this a world record for sandra buffered bench?
holy moses that's alot of volts :DQuote:

ASUS think that with 1:1 CPU:MEM ratio ,ppl don't need more than these Volts on their rams that's why they did that......Wrong.......I hope with a new bios they could solve this.....Quote:

This is an unbuffered Sandra score of a P4T-E at a mere 156/4x. It is actually more efficient than a P4T533.Quote:

Very interesting, looks like rambus stills wins in unbuffered tests. A better comparison would be to run quake 3 with low detail at 640 / 480 with equal cpu mhz if possible on a ti-4600 or a Radeon 9700. This would be a more real world comparison of memory bandwidth. I never trust sandra, theoretical numbers somehow do not always apply to real world games / apps.
are you sure that you have unchecked the rights things?Quote:

1) How did you determine the size of the capacitors?
2) Where did you install them? I'm guessing on one of the circuit traces that leads to the DIMM socket?
Actually they are just opposite form the Caps on the front of the board.. If you look at the Pic from the Abit, I am pretty sure they are placed on the backside of the board using the same Trace
Kiko, yes I have the right 9 boxes unchecked (though my last box is a bit different than your screenie (prefetch)). I've run 162/4x on a P4T533 and I got the same scores you got.Quote:

Also, at 162/4x I got 4050 buffered scores, whereas I get 3950 on the P4T-E at just 156/4x. The P4T-E has a pair of RIMM slots north and east of the CPU, so they don't get in the way of each other. Only thing I can think of.
BTW, this P4T-E that gets 2500 unbuffered Sandra scores runs a 2.53b at 1.68 VCORE on air, passes Memtest all day with 512 MB ram, and clears SuperPI and all 3D stress tests. It's no Ferrari, just a grocery-getter. :p It's also been doing this the last 5 months.
I have a 4PEA+, and the best I could do was just shy of 2k unbuffered memory scores running DDR472, 2-2-2-5. I just got a free 8INXP, and I will be playing with that board soon.

Btw, about adding capacitors, how, and what exactly do they do? Could you elaborate on the thinking behind that?
EDIT: I just noticed the post where you said they increase stability @ higher frequencies... You wouldn't be able to tell me how to do that on my A7N8X would ya? Do you add them in basically the "same area" on most motherboards?
EDIT2: OMG I AM REALLY DENSE. Ok now I read your post right before this one. So would these caps work on my A7N8X? Or would I need to tell you the value of the caps I have before I were to solder new ones on?
hipro5,
Get that digicam yet??
Kiko, I run the 16M run which usually lasts about a half hour. You gotta run the longer runs as I have seen SuperPI fail at something like 20'. I haven't bothered with PCMark yet. I tried Winstone once and what a hassle to install it and disable all your TSRs. I run 3DMark and SuperPI with around 15 TSRs in the background, as I do the full install of Norton SystemWorks Pro 2003 and activate WinDoc on startup. This way I know the system is stable if both clear. It knocks 150-200 points off 3DMark, though.Quote:

And I was wrong. I do get higher unbuffered scores at 162/4x :D :
This is 175/3x on the P4T533-R. Not too shabby. SuperPI stable.

But the Memory Bandwidth is amazing. Been debating on making a P4 system but im not too sure.
I just bought one. I had to after seeing these results, wow! Hopefully itll be in, in a few weeks. I got some Kingston 3500 to go along with it. No pelt on this one tho Ill only be able to do air on it. Hoping a 2 ghz Compaq pulled cpu will scale good. If not I have 5 others to try :) This will be my first Pentium system in a couple years, so I'm sorta out of the know in Pentiums. Not to jack your thread but will my 2 ghz Pentium have a 15 multi? Thanks
your kidding right???Quote:

No, not kidding. The P4T533 has a bad rap on high fsb primarily because all the problems people had just running 133/4x. But this is a fixed board; heck, even the unfixed boards had no problems at 3x.Quote:
your kidding right???
Normally, the Asus boards overclock about 3-5 mhz less than the very best 845PE boards like the BD7II, PX 845PEV PRO, IT7, and 4PEA+. It's due to the 4-layer PCB and semi-3-phase power system.
I am currently running 175 fsb, 1.70 volts on the P4T533. This same chip maxed out at 179 fsb, 1.72-1.75 on a PX 845PEV PRO, so I have more room to go. Looks like it might catch it. I'll give 179 fsb a go before I take the cpu out.
Now I am running a Thermaltake Tiger1 Northbridge cooler like I do with the 845PE boards. The spring clips don't fit so had to hotglue the sink to the board.
You did well......You'll be happy with this Board......It just.....ROCKS....... ;)Quote:

Look at pi-fast with ABIT IT7-Max2-V.1 and Mem 1:1 at 3680MHz ......
...........and now look at this screenie.....with ASUS P4G8X Deluxe at -115MHz (did't try it higher-don't care).....This means that Dual DDR Mobos GENERALY "ROCKS"..........
No longer need the pics.. Southbridge went up in smoke last night.. Dont know how but the prommie was booting up and it started smokin... :(

yep.. just like that... Prommie was at like -28 and it started smokin... system hadnt even booted yet(-33)..?? i dont get it either... RMA'ing it and talked to tech guys at Asus.... They have no clue either.....I am getting a new one in a few days so the pics actually would come in handy.. PLEASE.. Or at least PM me and try to tell me what you did for the AGP and most importantly the vmem
Thanks ALOT!!!
Pictures will be uploaded tommorow that I'm changing CPU from P4 1.8GHz to P4 2.4GHz.......
Now let's see what this baby can do with Super-Pi....
..........and a better Pi-fast.......
I DO REALLY am in love with this Mobo.......
Pushing it a bit higher.........
Well done as usual h5:thumbsup:
DAYUM!!!!
Something I dont understand.. Sandra said I was 2.5-3-3 2T when in fact I was 2.0-2-2-1T in BIOS... Am I missing something or was my Mobo toast from the start??
No , S-Sandra IS rigth........When you pass 140MHz fsb then automatically the Mobo puts the Cases at lower speeds whatever you do......You have to use WPGREDIT or a Modded bios to fix that....... ;)Quote:

No.....It doesn't work for AWD bios.....Only for BIN......
UPDATE---UPDATE.......
New score.....
Pi-fast.....
Super Pi.....
......and ALL these Updated benchies were done with the Pentium4 2.4GHz @ xxxx
Hipro5: Superb benchmarking!!
I'm gonna disconnect my 4600 from my system, and focus on doing some cpu/fsb overclocking for a bit ;) I did a 40second super_pi two days ago but my fsb wasn't maxed. In any case, I dig hexus pifast more. I'll try runnin that @ ~233mhz fsb and ~2650mhz. That combo should get me 55s hexus pifast methinks. ;)
Thanks sysfailur......I have a Geforce4 440MX witch can handle about 90MHz AGP.....Not bad...!!!...Quote:

I think I gave the wrong impression. :P (Just to clarify) the reason I'm disconnecting the 4600 from the loop is cus the heat from the 156w peltier along w/ the other pelts really kills my ice in my resivoir... If I disconnect the 4600 I can get more time to OC w/ my mobo/cpu. I wasn't disconnecting it cus the 4600 can't handle speeds. I lock mine @ 90mhz and put 1.7v into it. 93mhz gives me some glitches but 90mhz works fine heh.Quote:
