Does Merom exhibit the same FSB limits as Yonah on the AOpen ? have you tried anything more than air cooling yet :D ?
A comparo for various 3DMark benches 01/03/05/06 with Yonah/FX60 and Merom at a comon speed at your convenience would be great.

Merom should be a mobile Conroe so when Asus, Abit, DFI and so on releases their enthusiast motherboards for the Conroe the results should improve over this :)
Also - Merom is 166MHz FSB right? so Conroe will have a 60% higher front side bus by default. Since the multiplier is locked (unless ES) it should apply to all setups :D

Your right, only two exceptations: one Merom will have FSB200 and Merom U7500 will have FSB 133.

That's insane. 5K in 01 just for switching CPUs AND decresing clockspeed by 400mhz :wierd:. Is there a FSB be limit too? If so, it might be the board's fault all along.

Thx for running the 3d coolaler, those are some fantastic results, especially in 3dmark01.
Considering the Yonah already beats the FX60, this should absolutely beat the hell out of it. I cannot WAIT to get my dirty hands on it.

This is looking like a good excuse to sell my T2600 that's stuck at 227FSB and jump on a Merom.

But there kiling the previous amd kiler by far (conroe)
Also thanks for the benchies, it is kewl not to have to ask for them, your just smashing them outta the park bro, impressive, the 7900 ownage is nice to see too..
Cant wait till mine gets here, ur 03 is awesome 7900 single card right? or SLI?

Bingo! Lower wattage, easier to cool (technically, less heat to remove). Do we have overclock wattage scaling numbers on these? (I need under 80W max when overvolted and overclocked :D ).
And may I assume that these Meroms are plug-and-play into the AOpen i975Xa-YDG (i.e., no bios upgrade needed?). :confused:

conroe and merom are the same thing.....one is desktop and other mobile......the results should be the same between the two or very very similar

Great benches. It looks like Merom will be a very healthy upgrade from Yonah for performance per Mhz.
