Yep.... got one sample board here - rev 0.6 :D
Comparing to 8RDA+:
- Different MOSFETs - smaller ones
- HS on the NorthBridge
- Has Vdd in BIOS - 1.6V/1.8V/2.0V
- got different voltage regulation - draws power from +12V, got the 4pin ATX+ P4 connector
This is for now, will tell more tomorrow ;)

damnit, looks like I'll be selling my 8rda+ on ebay, im not too happy that it can only do 199fsb @ 1.9v anyways.

2.0v huh.......... cant wait to see the difference on the board itself..... supposedly it takes some hardware workarounds, cuz if it was just the bios Modbin would take care of that.
Ah round 2 boards starting to show up . I think they might be getting worried about the kt400a might put the revision 1 nforce2 boards to shame. I'm still waiting on a decent board that can do 2v without any mods and at least 233fsb.

You may be waiting awhile for at least 233 fsb........ alot of the ram modules can't even do that consistently at decent timings.
Maybe...but if I can't get a decent increase in speed over my kt333 board I'll wait for the hammer :D

Supposedly the board is setup differently to allow adjustment of VDD in the bios DH(hardware)... that's what I want to see.

When they come out someone can buy my 8rda+ rev1.1 with vdd mod that can run 215mhz easy. I'll give it up for $90 with free shipping in the U.S.
So is this a new board or a revision of the 8rda+ ? Do u know if higher vcore will be stable with the new mosfets u mentioned?

Any news on 8RDA+ v1.2 or a v2.0? Actually the 8RGA+ is kinda nice when retiring it for folding from a main rig with onboard LAN and video. :)

i think that they redid the PCB for the VDD the epox tech guy at AOA (who isnt trustworthy) siad that the only way to make it not dangerous (with good cooling of it) is to redo the pcb, otherwise you risk your vidcard.
then again, this is the same guy who said the PCI bus was not locked however, i am just pointin it out for what its worth

The Epox techs would neither confim or deny the PCI lock, as they were under NDA.
thats pretty cool, I can't wait to see them on the market and what people can do with them.

Boards with ajustable VDD will have different more robust VDD voltage regulation.
However the NB itself should be safe at increased VDD with propper cooling.

Utilising the +12 volt rail may be a good thing.....
Just how much did it pound your 12volt line? Also did the 5 volt line increase.....?

TODB that would be great if you would push the voltages to the max and see if Epox did a decent engineering job on the board this time around. It would be nice to be able to actually use the voltages it so proudly advertises without voiding the warranty on the board doing mods to get it to run.
Not in my book. If they come out with a new rev. on the 8RDA+ with VDD adjust options I will RMA my rev 1.0 8RDA+ so fast it will spin heads... I refuse to be a beta tester and not be rewarded for it. FWIW, I am AGAINST RMA'ing items that I have borked by my own fault or because they didn't meet my OC expectations. Seems to me Epox should replace all non-VDD adjust 8RDA boards IF they come out with one that allows it. My .02Quote:

Well I'm using 300W Enhance PSU w/PFC and my +5V rail is great ~5.08V.... but @2GHz/1.6V Tbred my +12V is way low - around 11.61V under load..... and the PSU is great, have run several boards - AMD and Intel and the Voltages were great....Quote:

Well that's 2.1V set in BIOS, notice the +12V drop.... That I think causes the little Vcore drop.... That's the stable Vcore under load, idling it's around 2.08V....Quote:

I'm writing reviews and testing HW for about 4-5 years now....
Of course the +12V ATX connector is pluged where it should be.... still low +12V....
I have a Shuttle SN41G2 that uses the PFC for the 12 volt input as well. The 12 volt rail reads 11.55 on this setup as well which I thought was very low. Kind of makes me wonder if all the NForce2 MBs, with onboard graphics, using PFC have a low 12 volt line issue? Any ideas or input?

Nonetheless I like your format, everything on one page, no jumping back and forth between pages to compare different features as they arise. With all the graphs and photos it is informative even to me.

does the onboard video hinder performance? I was always sceptical of onboard video cards... i mean mobos that have them.
So the question is... does this board devote any of its "power" to the onboard video tha most will not use?

Well.......... If you use external AGP video you won't loose any performance.... and If you use the on board video you will see ei VERY LITTLE performance drop in most of the appications.... only on 3D you won't get big numbers, but the again - that's a GF4 MX core..Quote:
