Mini Phase: 1/10 HP Comp, total weight: ~8kg (56k!!)

HI @ all! ;)

This is one of my newest units! ^^
I've got this nice compressor from a friend for about 5€'s or so! :D
So it was a great deal ...! ;)
It is about 1/10 HP ... so not very powerful ... but really small and light!
So the WHOLE UNIT only weifghts about 7-8kg's! :fact:
Case is about 35x18x18cm's! :woot:

Next to go is braze the whole unit together (captube --> filter/drier, suction --> comp), evacuate it and fill it with R507! :banana:

I hope I'll get temps about -30°C no load ... so lil bit like Vapo XE!
I HOPE so! *lol* :D

looks cute... I hope you're gonna fix the angle of the filter drier (You want it angled downwards at about 45*)

looks like a nice clean evap to me. Nice cnc action, how much did it cost ya? or did you do the millwork yourself by hand?

@ Sneil: I bought it from a friend who is able to work with a 100.000€ CNC @ school! He milled it for me for about 20€'s I think! :)

Is it just me or are the rows on that condensor seerate? Also y the use of flare joints and not just brazed?

Maybe I'll use it for lans to cool my CPUs around 0°C or so ... also enough for ocing! :D ....

Yes they are as far as i can see. They must be parallel. interesting..

It's so tiny 0.o Might want to change the fan guard, I find those types to make a lot of noise, I would just go with one of the standard round wire ones.

Nice unit, I wonder how it will compare to OCZ's new Cryo-Z? Maybe better? If so, you should think about building some, you might have some entry level phasers on your hands :)

dont think it will be better than the OCZ'z, they have 1/6 hp.

Orig. it's an R12 Comp .... I refilled it with new Ester-oil .... so it's ready for R507 now! ^^ :fact:
But anyway I think the comp 'll get RLY hot with R507 in it ... maybe think of extra comp.cooling! ^^

I was gonna say this aswell but fell asleep so forgot totally. I'll be lying my drier flat when I finalise the pipework on my unit AGAIN.

Much easier to sort other bits out around it then :)

Hmm .... don't know if I rebuild the filter/drier in a 45° angle or if I don't do so!? ^^
maybe I'll give it a try and test it this way ... if I have porblems I'll change it! ^^ :)
Maybe I have time tomorrow to work on the unit again! ^^
But atm I'm running out auf money! :( ^^ ... no money left for painting the case yet ... and others problems too! :(
So maybe the unit will be finished in 2-3 weeks or so!

i never knew that you could run driers ok flat, my prommi will be so much easier to do now i know that...

I've always assumed that having a drier at an angle would make it to act like a small reciever.

I guess this isnt a problem if you have enough charge in a system to flood the bottom several rows of the condensor and everything after with liquid, but if a system has minimal charge for very light loads i'd have thought a slanted drier would be benificial...
