Not bad at all, fairly impressed.

Good to see you pulling a nice FSB but you need to improve memory speed and timing.

Noticed 2GB of ram, not sure how much more you could improve that.

And Air Cooled WR I imagine must be quite high with coolers like ThermalTake BT that are better then most bought water cooling set ups.

Doubt that's a world record on air, seeing as i got my 3800+ X2 to 3.1 on water, and i was just taking screenshots, didnt even do the F5/F7 method.

BTW i've seen the new LDBHE 060x 3800+ X2s getting stable at 2.9 Ghz on air. And i've seen a few posts with 2.95+ Ghz action on them...

I just got my LDBHE 060 this morning and am priming on it now. Low volts and runs cool. The WR for my chip is prime on air 2hr@2850@1.4v. No killer for sure but pretty good for a $315 retail chip.

People have run 3ghz 100% stable on air. That's infinity times more a record than a SS at any speed.

Well some venices definitely will. As for X3 3800+, it's possible if you've got a good one, and the new ones are looking good.

:off: but it's the same oh same oh with any dc. One core is great and the other is not. When I got this 3800 today, the first setting I did was boot at 3000@1.45 on air and thought this might be the golden one.:D It would just about finish spi 1m on the bad core. The good core would do 32m at those settings. They are heart breakers. :( I wonder if the darkside ones are the same.:shrug:

and 3Ghz @ 1,55.

PC ICE has the WR 3800+ Venice cpu if nobody has beaten him. That was using cascade though. It was originaly mine which I got from s7e9h3n.

I was doing 2800Mhz with the stock cooler and just a little voltage increase. Max I got was 245x12 ( 2940MHz ) with a SLK-948U and Tornado. Limited by the board though, A8N-SLI. Didnt get chance to get it on a DFI NF4. Great cpu though. I want it back :p

Although this thread is about an x2, I must admit - that was one helluva cpu to debut the Venices with wasn't it? :toast:

Extremely good cpu :toast: One of the best Venice's Ive ever seen... thanks for sharing it.

I sold it as I didnt have anything to use it in. Sold all my PC gear. Family emergency. Wanted to keep it but it had to go :(

I miss it bad :p:

3700+ clocks alot higher than 3800+, my old SD, did.... 3188mhz 1M stable on STOCK, outside though... - Didnt try suicide shot, never liked suicideshot...

EDIT: Just looked in my sig..
3700+ doing 25.625 on stock @ 3210mhz

There are no air world records... i really dont get the piont of it.. if we all make this, the guys that work so hard with ln2/dry ice /cascade wont get credits coz every one can get a "air WR"

so its basicly nothing in my eyes!

You've got a very nice cpu, but the cooling doesn't matter, 2900Mhz still 2900Mhz on air, SS or caskade ;)

Suicide shots in general is a bit lame :P - But SPI / 3Dmarks WR with air is cool IMO...

Its a nice cpu none the less, I also thought this was about 3800X2 overclocking, not a 3800 venice or a 3700..
your all just jealouse because my opty can do 2.7 :P
