Wow... Now that's a sweet board for the price. Wonder when we will start seeing them in the states?

Shamino OC'ed the onboard video in his VR-Zone review. Can you confirm the 83% OC he saw. Might be okay for some games at 640x480. ;) He also saw 320HTT. Not bad for a HTPC board.

It's going to be (if everything is confirmed) the Micro-ATX board to get.

Nevertheless the Biostar 6100-939 is also a great board, i have taken it to 315 but at 2T. If this DFI is able to get to 320 or even 300 at 1T i'm switching boards.

The non SATA 2 support is bad, given the new HDD's that are coming out.

Now the absolute m-atx board would have the SB600 southbridge chipset and a better placement of components (like the Biostar), that ATX cable is going to be awfull for most m-atx cases, like Q-pack and the Silverstone Sugo SG01. All this and 300 with 1T mem support.

Looks like a solid semi-budget mobo with a solid chipset (I can fully live with the low USB performance of the SB450) and a very good bios. Now I just need to know if it will run with a 20- pin PSU...

Of course not. All (that I know of) ATX cases can mount a mATX board. Actually, right now I'm thinking the same as you ;)

hows the usb working on this board?? still crappy and if so think this will ever be fixed, to totally honest im not reall sure what the problem is. is it just slow to transfer data or will it efect your key board and mouse, if its a slow data transfer problem only i think i can live with it

It has a comparably slow data transfer rate through USB, check this review of the DFI UT RDX200 that also has the SB450 southbridgehttp://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2572&p=11 and it lacks SATA2. I can't see how the comparably slow transfer rate could affect mouse/keyboard performance. It's good enough for me, I don't transfer alot of data through USB.

Better options then a Tforce board but clocks just as good. 1st DFI board I'm intrested in if the price is right in us bling bling. lol So impressave for a media board benches the same as a 6100 onboard. I like it more then my board if it was for 754... maybe I'll get it when I go 939 in the future. Wish they would make it for the 754 as well. Cus then that would be the best Matx 754 board. But now its just the Tforce thats the best 754. This DFI board looks to be the best 939 matx there is.

I do not need a gaming system so I was looking at the Asrock Dual Sata2 then I thought about a board with on board video and MSI K8NGM2-FID looks to be the best out there

Ended up going with the Biostar Tforce, the second best.

Ok, i got mine yesterday and i set it up. WTF is up with the BIOS? The first thing i noticed was the CPU voltages. The lowest voltage besides DEFAULT you have to choose from is 1.55V.. Umm, hello?

The second thing is when i do set it at 1.55, it still reads default of 1.37V.. Ok, we have an issue here already.

Another thing.. Ive done everything possible to keep the damn nic from booting... It still wants to boot although ive done shift/f10 and ediited it to not boot on lan.

Anyone else having these problems?

By selecting Int 18t after Shift/F10 allows it not to do the Lan boot thing.

Has anyone successfully been able to get the component out to work? DVI/VGA works great. I cant get component out to work whatsoever. Ive played with the CC Panel for about an hour. It looks as if im going to have to purchase a DVI-Component Cable.

Dubz, have you got the same voltage problem i do? I cannot select anything lower the 1.55 if i manually set it.

I have not had that problem. My problem is trying to get past 275MHz and losing the newtork drivers after every reboot.

Im going to try a reflash of the BIOS than clear CMOS and see if that corrects it.

Odd your losing network at 275... Is the PCIe bus locked i wonder?

Somebody needs to throw a bone at Oskar and get him working a shiny new bios it appears....

Well, this morning, I played with it and I guess it was feeling better. Because I was able to get to 295 easily, w'o losing LAN. I guess it just needed a day to burn in. Wont post at 300MHz, but I am doing to work with it more.

Ok, this fixes the Opteron Voltages not showing up. So far so good :toast:

One thing i do notice is how anal this board is with ram timings. Thank god this is just a media pc with mild overclocking.

Are any of you guys (or gals) running 20 pin PSUs on this board? If it works, I'll probably be replacing my Asrock 939 Dual Sata2 with this one.

Ive got a Aspire Micro ATX.. Its like 430 watts and the +12V is showing 10.84 right now.. Definately need a better M-Atx PSU. Mines a 24.. You should be fine with a 20 since it has the standard P4 4 port on the board as well.

Leak-testing my setup since I had to rearrange stuff to fit.

Some possible negative observations:

1. DON'T EVEN THINK about the short round Chipset sinks on this board since they will NOT fit. Guessing the best bet would be the new swifty copper sinks. (Keep's my wifes Ultra-D chip @ 41c - NO FANS ) If this board shows itself worthy, will get them :D

2. Memory is together for DC instead of apart if I am reading the manual right. If this is true, can't really cool memory well.

3. I have this in a PC-V1000, and the board is right up against the bottom. I'm guessing big HSFs, this case and this board are a BAD combo, so be aware.
I'm using WC, so fits fine, and you can orient the block for better bleeding :D

I will see if the benefits outweigh the above over the next few days.

Yeah, I was hoping that too, but this is a DFI board after all...:D
But I know people that ran the Ultra D for months heavily overclocked on the same PSU (Fortron 350w), so you'll never know.
By going with the model number of the PSU Windwithme used to test this board with, it seems it's a 20 pin too.

1. USB thumb drive insertion causes machine to COMPLETELY LOCK UP. :mad:

2. Insertion of USB drive even in BIOS causes machine to COMPLETELY LOCK UP. :upset:

3. I am NOT getting a floppy drive to experiment w/ this.

Life is too short. I am not going to change everything I do just to try this board.
I just feel bad I didn't know how bad the SB450 was. :bsod: There are many reviews about the shortcomings of that chip, though this issue is not covered.

If you do much w/ USB, steer clear of this board - my humble opinion.

(Now if anyone can boot from a usb thumbdrive on this board - POST NOW !!!!!!!! since I am going for RMA ASAP tomorrow)

3. I am NOT getting a floppy drive to experiment w/ this.

Life is too short. I am not going to change everything I do just to try this board.
I just feel bad I didn't know how bad the SB450 was. :bsod: There are many reviews about the shortcomings of that chip, though this issue is not covered.

If you do much w/ USB, steer clear of this board - my humble opinion.

(Now if anyone can boot from a usb thumbdrive on this board - POST NOW !!!!!!!! since I am going for RMA ASAP tomorrow)

I have not had any of those USB problems. I have a 2gb OCZ rally and a Crucial 1gb drive that i tested with and no lock-ups.

When i had my probs with my opteron, I sent emails to DFI. The guy couldnt even help me, he referred me to some dudes email address off DFI Street who in turn, never wrote me back. Thank god someone mentioned the 02/09 BIOS here or i never would of known. Nice support DFI. I DO hope DFI pulls their heads out and start working on a credible bios for this board. For what this board is targeted for and for what they are asking for it, i think a more polished BIOS would of been the answer, along with a chipset cooler. Its amazing they just didnt wait for the RS5XX chipset and placed a ULI on the south. Hopefully, the BIOS will get better and i will stop :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:ing.

Did anybody who has the board tested whether the ECC memory options actually work (with ECC memory of course)? On my SLI Infinity it will reset the ECC to be off on warm boot.

If not, anybody willing to test if I send a bunch of modules?

has someboby made some stress tests to this mobo?

Got my board in yesterday and I have everything up and running. The only issue I'm having is that if I drop my RAM ratio lower than 1:1 (to see how high the CPU can go) the board won't POST.

This is only my second AMD build (always been an Intel guy), so maybe I'm doing something wrong but this wasn't a problem when I tried it on a Biostar TForce board.

I'm using the beta BIOS someone posted earlier.

Suggestions? Specs below:

I have the same problem. Tried the 4/5 divider and system wouldn't boot.

Apart from that it works just great. I have the bios dated 26/1.

One annoying thing, during boot, the LAN port is going through a dhcp routine. I can't find an option in the bios to disable this. Anyone know?

Hit SHIFT+F10 when it starts checking (it'll prompt you). In the config that comes up, you'll see the option to turn it off.

I think I'm giving up on this board and getting a Tforce-6100 or Foxconn 6150.

The more I fight with this board the more I don't like it. Now I've come to find that along with broken dividers, DIMM slot 2 doesn't work and putting RAM in there either by itself or with another stick in any of the other slots means the board won't post.

My first DFI and I think it'll be my last.

I hit 2.5 gihz with my x2 3800 on air
Even my Samsung pc3200 ram hit 500 ddr easily @ 1t

No problems what so ever. No USB thumb drive issues and slowq transfers don't bother me since I don't have any thing external USB that needs huge bandwidth.

The only thing so far that I don't like is that the volt display is completly wrong.

Still waiting for my wc kit.

I have had no probs with dividers..

Funny thing is that this board I think is made by Foxcon/Evertop.

Im using the 6/5 divider with success.

Add the NB-SB link voltage to 1.9V,it will help to go over 300 MHz.

I am very happy with the system. It's installed in a Cooler Master Centurion case. I think it looks fab :)

I have now tried the system with a HIS X1800XT. It's not as silent as before, but a gigantic leap in 3d performance (as expected).

I am considering returning the X1800XT for a 7900GT. I think that the 7900GT is not as noisy, and especially with a NV Silencer 5 should be very good in this setup.

Installing the graphics card has made the chipset temps rise to above 40C, 49C and 43C respectively. Performance has so far not suffered so far.

The cpu is now running at 2,5ghz @ stock volts and theres more to come.

What about USB performance? The ATI Southbridge should be very slow.

i'm running the mobo with a couple of gbhz ram but i can't set the same timings (250mhz @ 3-4-4-8) i had on my last dfi expert mobo...:( does somebody try the same setup?with wich timings?
i see that rs482 has more features in the genie bios section...may be i've put one voice incorrectly...:rolleyes:

is it me or does the 3/2 divider not work correctly? everytime i go to use it i am reset to 200 fsb and then cant overclock . is it me or is there something messed up?

memory i have is ocz performance 2 x 1 gb 7 3 3 3 timings , my previous experence has been this memory doesnt overclock well . so how am i to reach 290 fsb without this 133 divider working right.

Is this mobo still a viable option for s939? I'm thinking of getting an mATX case, and this looks to be the best mobo to use in it.

The guys that run DFI street do not assist those with opterons because their directive is not to do so. DFI does not support the use of opterons in their mobos. Apparentley there is a pissing contest going on over the use of server chips in standard 939 mobos. At least that is what I read on the street.

Necro post! But seriously, do any of you guys know where I can get the last of the drivers for this board? I found a driver collection place but I have to wait 30 minutes between each, slow, driver DL :(
