DOTHAN 780ES under LN2 action....MORE to come...

Finally we put my DOTHAN 780ES under LN2 cooling.....:)

Idle temp was -193.7*C and full load -192.7*C......Solid LN2 container by Bill Gorillakos.....:D

Testing with the ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe mobo....afterwords we will bench with the ASUS P4GD1 and an X1900XTX under cascade.....:)

Mobo has a "cold boot" problem at -155*C......After a restart we had to wait so as the temp goes up to -152*C so as to power up again....

Credits goes to Bill Gorillakos and esdee for their help....and my friend sayaa for this powerfull CPU.....:toast:


Some action now....Tests was done TOO fast just to see how DOTHAN responds under LN2......MORE to come.....:D

the only thing we did not have was time enough to run all the bench we wanted ...:D

LN2 was TOO fast for me.....:D

I got a bit dizzy about it's temps and I was just trying to find my Dothan's max benchable frequency......As I show, it could do only 264MHz in FULL PAT, thas 15 x 264 = 3960MHz.....I'll retest it maybe tommorow......You see I'm "learning" the LN2......:)

we have pots for VGAs/CPUs LN2 and two cascades.
There are so many hardware combinations and benches to be done and so little time :(

I also benchd my dothan with ln2 this weekend. And as you said a cold boot isnt nice. I dont know exactly were my coldboot is but i sure have it. And like you said you have to learn ln2. Well i still got about 15L so i hope to bench a second time this evening.

That is one insane X800 score, Cars & Lobbies are off the charts. Great job guys :toast:

Vcore was tested from 1.77 to 1.83, the sweetspot seems to be 1.79 as windows froze several times with vcore @ 1.83 for no reason
CT-479 is the one hipro5 has fully modded
We were about to bench a bit over 4GHz 32m but run out of LN2, during the week we'll refil (we only have a 25lt dewar)

I was about to loose my precious 780ES due to 3 braked corners.....For some time it didn't boot........I took it out and put a heatspreader on it.......NEVER again without heatspreader.......I hope it’s OK now.....:(

Ouch,dont do that,not to this cpu.I have cascade on my 730,i allways get bad contact but i im afraid to tight bolts too much and im searching for about 6 months heatspreader with no luck.:(
