very very nice. Those scores should come up a smidge with RD580 too.

Also does the x1900cf card have 1.1ns memory also? When you get around to overclocking please let us know the diffrence between your mastercard and XTX.

A little tip. Isolating the memory from the gpu heat source and lowering mem volts will alow close to 981mhz memory clocks :) etc waterblock on gpu or a custom cut up axp heatsink and ramsinks.

If we could have a more mature mainboard and drivers-software support, I think we'd be able to get these scores way higher. But I should thank my dear friend Brandy for his hard work in bringing these scores to life. We would improve these with the new drivers and software and also with better cooling on the cpu and cards

give ATI a little time perk. Sli has had a year to mature. However I'm a firm believer in single card action :)

That looks pretty good for stock to me...maybe I'm behind the times, what would a 7800GTX 512 in the system do?

And I'd also like to point out that single card scores are really impressive if you think that we couldn't give the cards any voltage and they were tested with their stock cooler. Also ati tray tool doesn't support these cards and we couldn't play with the lod values also

but.... x1900xtx with 2.6 is like 6.5ish already..... if 3G.... 6.8k...6.9k maybe even 7k....

just to give you an idea how well these will do on a rig clocked balls to the walls take a look at how high his single card 3d06 scores are compared to the world record single x1800 xt scores >>>>> http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=51443 and this was 823core/981 mem with 1.2ns ram..... compared to his default clocks on card and only 2.6 gig. I see 7k maybe even 8k possible on a single card...........

This is an good score for stock, an sli 512mb gTx with dual core
@ same spds would hit under 14K. In 3D 03 the X1900 like the X1800 in CF
still shows below avg. results. So far X1900 looking good though,
the question is how good will they overclock vs. XTX version. :)

Macci, is there any physical difference between the XT and XTX. I am pry going to be buying one or the other in the next day and would like to find out if a simple BIOS flash is all it would take to take the XT to XTX. I know that some have been saying some of the XT's may have 1.2 ns ram and the XTX has 1.1.

It really should not matter if thats the only difference because the 1.2ns ram on the X1800XT's rarely have a problem going over 800Mhz.

I don't think there is any hardware difference between the two cards but from our tests we saw that x1900xtx's ram has gone further in mhz than the xt's. So I would definitely go for the xtx. It's worth the extra dollars in my opinion

This is fricken nuts...as always, seeing such impressive results this early on REALLY makes me wanna be able to drop the cash on even a single X1900XT, but alas. :(

Keep us up to date with the scores though, can't wait to see where this goes. :cool:

Wow these cards in CF mode really choaked on the CPU! :lol: GPU tech is now ahead of the CPUs.... wow....

seems like reviewers should simply stop benching @ 1024x768. i dont even read that section, its like "here this card does 297fps vs 312, the gtx512 is clearly faster", base resolution + quality for high end should be 1280x1024 with SSAA and 16x aniso. They should only bench resolutions for flat panels 19"+, and always include 1920x1200 for 24" flat pannel users... only 3 of the reviews i read actually benched a 1920x1200+. and some did 75% of their testing at 1280x1024 -, that's not even relevant when you're paying 600+ for a GPU... and the score difference is within margin of error cause of cpu limitations...

CPU limitation is starting to go away with the newer drivers as they are starting to optimize for dual core. I think they still have a long way to go. By the time they finish though the quad core chips will probably be out.

I think we can now give the cards some voltage with the new ati tool 0.25 beta 12. But ati tray tools doesn't recognize the cards so the lod tweaks can't be done yet

I wonder what kind of fluctuations we would see with these scores if you were to bump the CPU up 50MHz from base... and down 50MHz from base.

That would really show how much the Crossfire setup is being limited by the CPU.

With everything I've read crossfire should scale much better than SLI. So running 2 cards should give you close to a 2x increase in performance. But I imagine this increase is being severely limited due to a CPU bottleneck.

The drivers being optimized to take advantage of DC will certainly help... but I fear there will still be a problem with windows limiting the efficiency of any multi threading app or process. It will be interesting to see.

I read a year ago an interview with Carmack about what % of improvement should be expected with DC...

In SS2 a 3800 x2 is 21% faster than a 3200 at medium quality...

Both have the same frequency ( 2ghz).

I don't remember the % Carmack gave....but it was around 30% i think...

So I wonder if anyone know if 40% or better is realistic?

my x800pro vivo is gett'n close to 2(21 months old iirc) years and my 9700pro is over 4 years. But voided both of them within a month. my x800 didnt make it 24 hours before it had its cooler poped, bios flashed and vgpu penciled up:D

I imagine with the stock cooler being about the best and no need to vmod my x1900xtx will be a diffrent story. Now if the big brown truck would hurry up i'd have it:woot:

LOL If most of my cards last 10min without a mod on it im lucky hehe. Weather its taking the cooler off, flashing bios, or just replacing the thermal paste, I do it as soon as I get the card.

No I think only X1900XT CF edition will be available.
About the display being a bit weird, I would say yes. It was the same with x1800xt and nothing changed with this card too. We have used Dfi Rdx200 for the crossfire tests.
