I'm still intrigued by the Epox. I know they were a heavily favored board with Japanese overclockers in the past, it's just not something you'd ever really see done over here.

Could you give any more details about this, "Copy-WAZA by Hideo" :)

Just thinking the same about the EPOX. You dont see them at all being used on here, us users and european users. Mostly DFI's tbh.

Even more props to you guys for doing it with a EPOX board. From the results the board is extremely capable of doing the job but its good to see not only DFI boards making records.

Got any pics of the setup its self?

About EPoX, am a man of the past:D-- its always been treating me well.
I have a very reason for not using DFI, it (i.e. its Ultra mod to SLI) is slower than EPoX so need at least 2-3 clicks more of ClockGen to match it under my available memory setting & such.
Besides, my DFI M/B seems to have a cold bug-- one cold bug is just enough for me.
With this EPoX M/B, I did once for 9hrs straight Bukkake(LN2 benching).
But, as you know, EPoX is not a perfect either like among others though:(

It's funny that you need more speed with the DFI board to match performance, I remember when I used Epox boards(8RDA+) that folks were all saying that they were slower per clock due to slack timings and such ( compared to Abit's boards of that time).
I liked the 8RDA+ boards the best of the NF2 series, but I had 3 die while overclocking (nothing major, :confused:), so that was it for me.

You stated above that your DFI mb has the cold bug, I wasn't aware that the MB itself had a cold bug.
I imagine you tried that same FX on the DFI mb, what was the difference, was it bugging immediatley, or was the max HTT alot lower, or did it not boot at all?

helo PTJ, very nice result again, but I still don't know what "ERAM2.11" does, i have dwled sth, looks like some kind of a script, run a .bat file that was there, but it does nothnig, except opens some .log file and has no impact whatsoever. I must be doing sth wrong here.

ERAM, AutoGear are all in Japanese: if you do not mind, you can download at:

ERAM is still at my learning stage but AutoGear is straight forward though am not sure it always works consistantly-- usually check with taskmanager to make sure RealTime process though.

Copy -WAZA is explained in my previous res. It is not a software.
I do not know exactly yet as we normally do not disclose how to even at Team Japan. We have to dig out by ourselves when someone gives you some hints or pictures. Is't this a normal practice at any other OC world:confused:

You need it to install as a new device then set its parameter by opening newely created ERAM icon in ControlPanel-- explained in ERAMNT.doc but sorry all in Japanese.
I thought any other RAMDISK software works the same way, aren't they?

Oh well, finally got 32M improved after so many trials-- cold bug and so painful to dripping LN2 to the Pot during benching.
Actually, I was running at one more click up but did careless somoking during benching -- error at 17 loops:( -- though never thought about quit somoking:D

Anyway, am very much appreciated your constant encouragement and offer fot the chllenge in SuperPI benching:)

Not sure about the exact temp as am reading from the temp probe taped at the buffer area (say about 3mm up form the bottom surface) of the pot.
The first bench in a couple weeks ago was around -90C, about -103C at this time after a bit of CPU burn-in provided that the said probe was set consistantly and other condition such as amount of HS grease applied was the same.
At lower than -105C, no POST at all:(
Seems the M/B does not indicate CPU temp well, so please take them as reference only.

Im not 100% positive, but usualy I gain around 0.0xx sec from changing preamble to lowest setting (sometimes 0.1xx - in case DRAM respons: aint fastest in bios)..

Also, this is my own theory.. - 0 clk gives best result in 1M, in SiS / 3Dbenchies etc. 16 / 32 is better...

As far as 100mhz 1.95 goes, Im surtain 15.6 200mhz is faster, but the thing is, somehow its harder on the chipset, thereby v-chipset might has to be increased by 0.2v..
I dont know the reason for this, and I havnt gotten any featback on this from G.skill, but I bet OPB knows the answer :)

EDIT: Im in tears, argh... Just got some insulation tape, last thing to get my waterchiller running @ -28 deg C, and then... - Leak in res :S - DAMNIT, more work before it'll be up'n running, properly get my tube before friday though.

Yes, this is a OC term for splashing LN2 into the pot-- but only apply to Intel atm unfortunately. For AMD term is more like Tenteki = an intravenous drip.

It is surely a painful time during benching especially for a heavy smoker like me-- but smoking is good for checking the room air status, at least in my term...

It all depends on which board you use ;)
On the ultra-d, more emphasis is placed on the MAL as oppoed to the RP. Lowering the MAL on those boards has more affect than lowering RP.. On the Expert, the ability to RUN LOWLOW RP's gives it a large advantage over the Ultra-D's.
The reason why ICL16 may run faster for the longer benches is due to it's stability. In Spi, the more stable you are = the faster the time. It's kind of a funny thing, but it's true. Sometimes you'll have to slack your timings in order to even finish the bench, but the results turn out better than if your timings were on the edge of failing. Just take a look at the FORMER ;) WR 32m run....Formyfaith ran a TRFC of 14. He even says that @ that speed, a TRFC12 will give him worse results.
TBH, the best tref to use may just be 166, 1.95u or even 166, 15.6u. That matches your timings to your actual memory refresh rate. It's possible to use 200, 15.6u and it be faster since your memory is refreshing less often than normal.....
Trust me, I talk to OPB quite often and he's confirmed this info. A new-found setting to try now is TRAS3 as it seems to be the lowest recognizable setting for your memory.....;)

11, 14,15 often gives better results... Why I do not know, but first time I heard it, it was from my fellow danish tweaking mate, SIOUX, I did some tests on my 3200+ winny back then, and it turned out to be true :)

It depends.....most can't run trfc11 @ >260mhz and trfc13 would be slower than trfc12 @ say 265mhz.......

Yes it depends on ram / mobo, but usualy, highest stable clock will be hit with 12 TRFC :)

- I can run 10 TRFC at pretty high clocks, simply aint a boost compared to 12... :)

Havnt tested at 277mhz, requires a bit better cooling than in-door air in order to do that at 3.63 / 3.7v - Gonna teamup with a mate and fire up @ 4.03v + DICE some day, only issue, need good cooling for CPU as well, would be a shame not getting good results...

As for Vdimm mod, I use 10KOhm VR between pin#2 and pin#4(ground) on LM358M, which is located at far right side of orange dimm slots facing from Floppy socket.
Additionally, your PSU 3.3V rail can be bumped up like OCZ PowerStream or 3.3V rail mod on PSU itself is necessary.
Anyway, that what I am doing but the Vdimm mod is up to your own risk though:D

I guess I can improve about 7 sec on 32M-- got a pity error after 23 loops@3.86G-- another 12sec less for 18.xxx--- seems a hell of a task given to me;)

Actually, just before this, it was running 16.392s faster than my previous time of 19m18.313s at 17 loops @3.871G. As usual, got an error right after:(

I thought initially this chip had severe cold bug under LN2 so was going to dispose:D Sooo glad I kept it;)
Somehow this M/B likes old CH-5 rather than old BH-5-- may be try once again with SanMax old BH-5.

can you give us a guide on properly tweaking Win2003 server for these runs pls :D

would you find a few more seconds in it with some faster drives...........my benching rig consists of a single IDE drive as well but there are some claims faster drives give better times

Or you can get yourself a nice little PCIe Sata2 HW controller like my Promise Supertrack 8350 - True 3G compliance and the ability to run Raid 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and 50 :D While it doesn't run circles around the onboard ASICS, it definately is faster:

Actually, am not sure how to properly tweak Win2003 as never touched Registry.
I have posted here for basic rules used be @Team Japan:then adopted now with suggestions from cpulloverclock

I am not sure how much faster drives will improve-- as s7e9h3n said before it is all about how stable your system is-- it is nothing but a system harmony;)

i picked up one of these....should do the trick with a couple of U160 10K drives in raid0........hmmm i've only got one 15K drive....wonder if i should go raid0 10K or single 15K

last night i've tried playing with Win2003 Server.......with tweaked services and RAMdisk without improvement over my XP setup... :confused:

haven't used maxmem nor have i touched registry yet.....wonder if there are any good registry tweaks i can use
