Gainward going to release 512MB versions of 7800GT and 6800GS. There will be 1.4ns chips which can give up to 1430MHz. Price still unknown but it won`t be cheap.

The INQ got their hands on Gainward BLISS7800GT Geforce 7800GS 512. Check out this review. Apparently no OCing were done, but it surely can be nice purchase for decent price :)

First and For most 512MB of Graphics Ram will not help in Gaming.. SO I see no reason for it unless you really love AutoCad
dependes of the kind of game i guess with maps pretty large 512mb with uncompressed textures is a need

Odds are the 6800GS 512 would cost about as much as a Plain 7800Gt (which would perform better when overclocked)
and the 7800Gt 512 would cost more than the 7800Gtx... Just a thought
price is my only concern also I say I wouldn't bother with it only because Im sure it will be rediculous ammount of money, I mean look at this version of the 7800gt they made and how much its going for:

wont nvidia soon stop making the 7800GT cores when they launch the 90nm G71s?
as im shure there wil also b a 7900GT.

Well, if you understood that these graphic processors can be programmed as super fast general purpose processors, then you would understand why more memory is important. i.e. memory is where the program and data are stored...duh. :)Quote:

Now if only ATI would put some GDDR3 on the X1300 or X1600PROs...even the slowest gddr3 would give them a boost in games and benchmarks, and with a boost low enough not to threaten the X1600XT, but good enough to increase sales.

A very good move by nvidia. Naysayers should understand that the more memory (and faster memory) you have for 3dmark05 on a 256-bit mem interface, the higher your score will be...and this will impact games greatly.
Except I predict some price gouging on these due to the 512MB ram.

INQ says it`s gonna be 400 pounds for 7800GT512 and 256 version costs 300 pounds (actually 270 is lowest I could find for England). So "only" 25% increase :D You can get GTX for less than 350 :D

that Gainward with 512MB ive seen for 330 euro at Mix-computer.
330 isnt bad for a 512MB.
it is only 20 euro more then a X1800XL with 256MB and 60 more then a
256MB GT.
alkthough the 512Mb card stil aint listed on the gainward site :/
