Got a 3700+ stronger than most FX-57:)

Hi Guys:)

I resently sold my 0528GPMW FX-57, course i want to go DC. I desided to pig up a 3700+ to keep me entertained until the fx-60 is in reach for me:)

I was very positive about the results. I have NEVER owned a CPU this strong in my life:) All tests is Spi 1m, and later i will post some stability screenies:) I booted up at 3ghz with no problem, so i pushed it to 3100...still no problem. here is what happend.

Please dont look at the 1m results. was running a 166 divider, and bad timings to start with. :)

After getting 3200 stock volts on normal water, i was pretty exited, and desided to move over to my waterchiller and give it some power. Water temp at 5 degrees 1.6v on CPU idle 12 load 22:) I also got some more speed on the mem, but the OS is not tweaked at all, and a lot of stuff running in the background:)

Thats some pretty cool water. Very nice results though, definately better than most fx's ive seen. Definately a keeper.

pretty damn sweet for a cheap-ish chip. Beats the hell out of most opties and some FX's as well.

Never ever seen a KAB'3E' cpu before, or any over 3E. That just me? Or is this something new and special.

At 34xx the watertemp was about 2-4 degrees :)

Are both GPMW? Those are great clocks. Nothing like finding a diamond in the ruff when you thought you only had a stone.

Nice! There`ll be a queue of people waiting to buy that when ya sell it! I`d personally choose that over the FX60! Excellent results!

Random idea- I predict a coldbug under phase, but as with the "2E" steppings, the "3E" will perform EXCELLENTLY above zero.

Yes...both chips is KAB3E 0547GPMW. My FX-57 was a GPMW as well:)

Yes...I have 2 here, but only 1 of them is mine. The other one belongs to "Myth" here at XS:)

They have a lot more in stock with same steppings:)

These KAB3E are goin like hell ...

i reckon try some sub-zero before anything else....that would be most important i guess to check for cold bugs.......:D

I don't think a Mach1 will trip any but the worst of cold bugs. Anyways, my 3700+ SD is happy. If only my 2gb ram wasn't value maybe I'd have some mem clocks. :p:

Man, insane clocks for water .. good job! Also, doubt your 3700+ would have a cold bug w/ a Mach1 .. isn't necessarily the most powerful phase change cooler ;).

for sure it not the best...no doubt. i originaly bought it for my gfx, but it ended up on my fx-57 and did 3520 benchstable. so not bad at all. and this 3700+ dont run as hot as the fx, so i have hopes:)

This stepping is just amazing...I am sure AMD is wishing they kept these chips for for higher selling FX cores and what not...since it is clocking so high with such little voltage.

The compusa I work at recently got a couple 3700+ in stock with the stepping: 0549VPBW Any idea whether or not these would fly? I'm thinking I may pick one up and test it next week after I get paid.

Great SD 3700+. Almost the same stepping as my Opty 148, which is Cab2e 0547 GPMW, clocks pretty similarly, wish i had a water chiller tho!

I think week 47 SD cores are just pretty damn good in general.

People: This is a good stepping, but damn, LOTS of the 3700+'s on the streets truely kicks ass. This one is extremely good, but in the last 2 weeks, I've heard nearly every 3700+ hitting a fantastic 2950-3050mhz P95 (large FFT's) stable!!
I myself got a KAB2E 0551EPDW (I think thats the one :S), which is SPI 1M stable to around 3130mhz, 32M @ 3100mhz, P95 = 3050mhz. - However I've removed the IHS, but my water is around 23 deg C, and CPU's alot hotter :S - Got waterchilling as well, but aint received my insulation yet.

SIOUX, I cant wait to see what that baby does with phasechange :) - Sad you've sold your x1800XT, I believe your CPU + myth's vapo LS + x1800XT + your tweaking skills would give a decent 50k @ 01SE !

EDIT: Just heard about the temp, sad mate, but hell, its a killer on water :D

I know a store in Sweden that has KAB3E 0548BPMW. I wonder if they clock just as good and if it´s worth changing from my very avarage clocking 3700+CABGE

buy one and find out, although im not sure 2860mhz is average in many peoples books. Be handy to know that KAB3E is the uber stepping (or not).

2860mhz naked, on water @ 1,6v isn´t superduper. I wouldn´t be suprised if one of these can do 3200mhz 24/7 on my rig.

sorry to say this, but the chip got a masive coldbug already at 2-3 + degrees :(

under 240 HTT everything is fine, no matter if its -22. but i cant raise the HTT at all, then i get freeze. just like some 0516 fx-57:(

if i had a higher multi it would be nice. but still a good chip for a gaming rig:)

And what about Perdro's Multi processor tweak? For Bechus it helps really... did you try this?

COurse verytime i hit 3400mhz prime fails, and the chip freezes. I already used the R/P tweak, but the bug is already at +2-3-4 degrees:(

BUT...some good news is, that i actely got 1 of the chips to run under the mach using MPS multiproc (not ACPI multi) got a load temp at +19 1.61v wich is to much, but i will think of something:)

i will post some, hopefully, positive results from the mach 1, and also on VAPO LS in a day or two:)

There is a KAB3E 0546 amd 3700+ here at work... For $250CAD, should I try to snag it?

yes. make sure it is a KAB3E though.

A guy here from denmark got a KAB7E chips, from the same place that i got mine. hope he keep it and test it. seen a KAB7E before anyone?? :)
