A few Opterons have been frozen. The ones that cooperate with the cold do really well. Maybe more can get that way and have the results posted here. Something besides just SS of OC. Opteron cpu's and DI are somewhat affordable, and people with phase, it shouldn't be an issue. :D I've had great luck with mine and just gotta show it. I used DI and a tube I made.

Saw a swedish guy which had max screen on 3.5ghz with air, wonder what it could to with Ln2 or DI :D

9:3ish is about what I was expecting out of ~3500MHz... My best is 9:54 on 3700+ (link in sig) and I really hope to better it one of those days :)

Nice 148 you have!.. I have the same stepping (0543FPMW) on a vapo LS, but I seem to top out at 3.3.. 3.4 is a brick wall that I can not seem to pass..
I started getting the cold bug on mine (weird freeze-ups at high memory clocks) once I popped the IHS.

Yes, but on my setup it would be almost luck. The next step up with ClkGen is 3546 ? Big jump at this point, ram with a divider don't go all the way it will at 1:1. On the pos. side though, every volt increase it runs higher, and I ran this today with these Tweaker settings...ripped right through it. It was nice.
I'm running successfully at 3554 now ;) I'll post up a new score in my own thread not to steal yours... :toast: to good opty scores!

Could you do me a favour and have a look at how high you can get your HTT on 10 multi with these temps? Mine wil stop around HTT 330 this cold. That 11 multi on the 148 is what i need..

Ive got a 148 0543 laying around here that i planned to sell because it didnt do as wel as me 146 on stock mach II. Maybe ill keep it for a while to see if i can get it under DI sometime soon..

Thanks, last night I ran a 20m40s, but it froze and blinked out. Then in a frenzy I ran a 20.39 but the same thing happened before I could save a screen. I have to remove the DI to hopefully allow the temp to stay high enough to be stable for SS. At that speed though, I just can't do it fast enough as it has to be really cold for as long as possible. I did a couple more 20.39's tonight and was able to take pics of the completed run at varying degrees of getting things open afterward SG, and cpu clock. I'm still fighting for "below 21:00" (currently at 21:07) with Opteron 146 that njkid32 send me to fool around with :) It doesn't seem willing to pass 32M @ 3.5GHz but I'm still trying and amazed how well it does.

Thanks, I HAD a 146 0540, still kicking myself. It was an amazing chip also. But at that time I never saw many volts passed through them and the most I took it up to was ~1.6v. But for 10x and using a 166 divider it was still able to go ~3300 for a 1m iirc.

No, not smoking crack, just old. 1m @3163 1.616v 25.903s and a 32m@3155 1.648v 22m47s both with water. Not a bad chip though.

@metro.cl, I try/have to kind of control the temps by adding DI or letting it expire. Usually mine are ~-21 in bios during boot. I have to let it get used up before the end of Pi so it dosen't drop and freeze screen after run. Good stepping. You could do really well.

After 5 or 6 nights and probably 40lbs of DI, I'm 99% insane and am going back to water for now. The CB is frustrating, unhealthy, and too much to deal with. Thank you bachus. I reminded myself of a definition someone once said about doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. That being said, I'm pretty sure I'm going to the store again. I haven't got this thing figured out quite yet.
