What are the good recent Venice steppings :confused:
i am following opterons right now, but a friend of mine wants to buy a 3000+ venice
so which are the good steppings out there

0521DPMWs are great, but i wouldn't group them under "recent" venices. I am curious as to how recent venices OC myself. Seems everybody has been getting Opties instead so i have no idea how vennies are doing.

s7e9h3n was implying that his is forsale. I was going to trade my Opty for it, but I kinda like this 3ghz 0540FPBW better :D Sorry steven :sofa:

I picked up a 3000+ for a friend, 0544 FPAW. I didnt get a chance to play with it much cause he was bugging the :banana::banana::banana::banana: outta me. It did 280x9 32m stable at 1.45. Not too shabby.

And with Enjoy here, there's a couple 0521DPMWs to choose from. lol, they're good, low voltage CPUs. But jeeze, what week are we on, 0546 or something... and i DO remember when 0521 was the new kid.

Yeah, me too! Week 20's weren't bad either. I got my APMW off of eBay for $173 and found out just recently after I sold it that it could do 2.9+ghz air! I only ever got it to 2.85 in the winter due to a weak board. I almost bought a 21 CPMW too... ahh, how times change.

nah, 0533 (E6) was 2475 stock HSF, 2700 phase, died going for 2800. :(

i'm the guy who's searching for a decent oc-cpu..

I mailed to my local pc shop, asking which cpu-steppings they have..

the vender mailed me :

0542EPBW

But I can't find any oc-results @ internet :confused: :rolleyes:

does someone tested this stepping yet ? :p:

Something tells me that supplies of newer steppings are coming through only slowly. Local shop out of s939. Had a 3200+ ordered elsewhere, out of stock, asked 3000+, out of stock, getting a 3500+ presumably E3.

in belgium (where i live), the 3000+ cpu's are hard to find, but the other one's (higher rating) are easy/easier to get :)

BW=E6

no epbw is the stepping, its just luck that it has BW in it also. you need the first (top) line on the processor to know what version it is.

So where are we getting at? I think I'm on for a 3000+ Venice if I can get hold of one, but its hard to find a clear answer of what stepping to aim at.

The cpu I've been talking about will most likely run its life at stock speeds.. not a single mhz over stock. :(

The new Venice 754 3000+'s are DH-E6 as I have seen in one so far. I don't have one myself... yet. Hope it OC's good.

are they comparable as those on s939 ?
because i have a s754 right now,
but i ordered an asus a8v-deluxe mobo (s939) ... to use a venice cpu...

and what about the price ?

They're here in the UK for about 88 pounds inc tax (~135 euro?). Look for product code ADA3000BXBOX.

Edit: overcome by temptation, I'm gonna buy one for my old rig. It should like the DD TDX waterblock. :D

venice 3000+ costs 159€..

both boxed...
opteron = E4

is it a good idea ?

i'm bidding on 2 mobo's..
Asus A8V-deluxe (in fact, it is already bought :p)
and
MSI Neo 2 Platinum + Wifi

when I add new thermal paste under the NB of that asus, would it reach 300mhz htt ? (people said it maxed out at 270-280mhz, but i dont know whether they used the stock thermal paste, or new one...)
