ok, put the pix next to each other, looks much better now and you dont have to scroll so much to see it all :D
the iram looks nice, i wish i could buy one but they arent available over here... did you buy yours in retail or did you get it from gigabyte or special connections? :D

Maybe they work for a company
Maybe they own a hardware review site

that is cool, but i bet these will cost the same as those EE now.
-
5ghz on air seems possible, DAYM! :slobber:
-
-
All I can say I am very jealous. Where did you get the Iram.
Thanks
-
When I posted that 8Ghz will fall in 2006 I was not kidding. We may even see 9Ghz
-
I can't see any of the links for some reason, will have to wait till I get home.
I'm hoping that Intel do get the SLi licence even though, as Saaya and I were discussing, that might be unlikely. I'd really like to go from my 875 Asus P4C800 to a new rig early next year with cheap Cedar Mill to tide me over till Conroe comes out H2 2006. I'm really suffereing with games at present and have two 6800GS cards waiting for a good home. The nvidia Intel chipset does not look as good overclocking wise.
I think I am so keen on 975 because 875 was so good and they both have 75 at the end :)
I'm just waiting for things to happen I guess to see what transpires.
Regards
Andy

AndreYang what speed are you running the ram at ?
[QUOTE=AndreYang]4.8G 32M Air Cooling pass
/QUOTE]
-
DDR2 = 4-4-4-18 ! egad ! tighten that up man !
-
Thats the SPD info, hard to say what the ram is really at. But you are probably right and it is set to SPD and using a ratio.
-
Thats true FUGGER, but I'm sure we all really want so see how far this system can go with Most components O/C working as a team. :)
-
very nice
on air to max clock?
-
ha~~~andre, 4.8G pi_32m on Air, nice !
seems 975x really better then 955x , more stable.
aslo the WS version seems good for OC as premium board :D
-
I wonder what are those yellow curcled slots are for ?
http://img462.imageshack.us/img462/5815/20vt3uf.th.jpg
And wtf is GPIO ???
And with simmetric PCI-e slots SLI will be very possible indeed - of course with modded drivers. I really doubt NVidia will licence Intel to make i975 SLI compatible

The FSB is a huuge bottleneck... How far can it OC?
-
Yeah, I thought I read where anand said that board's FSB limited their Presler OC.
Is that right?

Andre's driving as fast as he can to the nearest hospital, while his wife is pulling on his hair, screaming, "hurry up, the baby is coming!". Andre accelerates then STOPS! Runs into his local computer dealer, pulls out his credit card and buys his new equipment, saying " This baby will NOT be born without my new 975 board!:nono: ". He jumps back in his car and accelerates off to the hospital but notices his wifes silence, looking at him with absolute astonishment :stick: and says nothing...total silence...death to a husbands ear. The wrest is history:p: THE END
Congratulations Andre:bounces: :eleph: :bday:  :banana3: :YIPPIE:

Think, figure that out self which is most important ;)
-
how long was installation for the tuniq for u?
-
Andre, would you say that this board is a LOT better than the 955 p5wd2-p ?
I didnt want to upgrade my mobo as well with presler because of needing a new mobo for conroe but if it will get me 500mhz more overclock then i would be all for it.
-
I'm aware of what these Intel chips can do. ;)

I am just curious if those pcix are running of pci express or pci bus. Are they actually pcix speeds.
Thanks

cant you see the pci-x I/O chip near the SB?

Very nice rig.
And why don't you put that big heatsink of the 78GT? :D
BTW what's the single 78GT 3dm05 wr?
-
Congrats for the Baby! Hope wife and baby are doing great!
What is the ma FSB you can reach on the board? Having PCI-X is a dream! But from the ANATECH review they only reach 300- not sure whether this was the real max.

my p5wd2 premium can reach 375fsb stock cooling HS, without any mod.
mch=1.65v
stable @ 366fsb dual_pi_32m+dual_prime95
I'm wondering how's 975x performance .
higher fsb brings xs result , especially whern 3Dmark benching

-
please use www.imageshack.us ! :D
it automatically gives you thumbnails :)
copy and paste the second code line it gives you, this works on xs :)

thats one hell of a board.. but why PCI-X.. and give me back my other IDE port!
from the looks of it the conroe performs like a beast. Any posiblity of testing with a 840EE or other dual core cpu from intel. Id like to see a performance comparison. Just a glimmer of a hope that Intel drastically improved performance per clock on these cpus.

yes , 1333fsb is already supported.

Is that info available to read somewhere? I can't find a single bit of anything that says the 975X chipset or P5WDG2-WS (or P5WD2-E) supporting 1333FSB OR the Conroes. If you have some solid info or a link, please share. I was going to skip a 975 board and just wait til Conroe is released to get a board then, but if what you say is true I may not. Please do tell...

My intel 975x mobo can support 1333fsb and conroes ;)
-
I was just coming back to say nevermind. I see a lot of lay people saying the 975X will support the Conroes, but what convinced me was that Anandtech (fairly trustworthy) said they do :) Damn, now I have no reason not to buy a 975X board right NOW!!

And yes, some Intel boards can really OC well, like this old D875PBZ =), 300FSB on old socket478 board: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=58356

It's better than 955X. I'm very sure.
-
975X should be better and if not, there is something wrong :P
-
Isn't the 975 basically just a "tweaked" 955? I don't know how much better it can really be, but that may not stop me from getting one anyway if it supports Conroe :)
-

Much more than just a tweaked 955. If Intel is putting off i965 until Conroe Launches, then Conroe sure as hell will be supported by i975.

One question..
The Presler supports multiplier from x12 - x60, any mobo's with that kind of support? or just close?
-

Thats for the ES versions, regular retail versions will have appropriate mulitplyer for cpu clock speed. example 920 = 14 x 200mhz (2.8ghz) Its highly likely multiplyers will be locked. If they all had unlocked multiplyers it would be an Overclockers Dream ! :D
However thats not to say that higher end chips will have multiplyers locked on certain vendors mobos. A situation like this occured with older 5xx and 6xx high end chips on certain Asus mobos whereby "cpu lock free" feature can be turned on in bios, but only to 14 x
a unique situation also occured on Asus P5WD2 mobo (955x chipset) where you can "force" the 14 x multi by setting EIST to "minimum speed" on lower range chips such as my 630. :)
-
I believe the XE will have unlocked multis

One question - all my Asus P5xxx mobo's
switched power off (like pc is simply turning off) for ~3 sec. before restart. :(
What about 975X Asus?

you dont need a link to prove that
the 840ee is already mp unlocked
plus
according to past experience, es cpu's highest mp= its default ratio
and in cpuz you gonna see (ie. 670ES 14-19)
in 840ee and 955ee, you will see 14-60
thats the difference

that with the 3 secs restart is a bug that has been from the biggining. as soon as you oc over 240 fsb ,this will happen. all the p5wd2 boards do it, something youll have to live with .;)
-
vanovich :(
So, VictorWang :D :
What about your Intel mobo?
No cpu FSB OC'ing at all? (only multip. with 955 ??)
Vcore/Mem.volt. only auto?
And why did you say this one support Conroe? (1333mhz + 930 )
:toast:

So you have owned an EE before?
I can't justify the financial outlay for EE cpu here in Oz, roughly around A$1,500 for each one, that kind of money could get you a Vapochill and lower end cpu..lol!:)
