Finally i make my vgpu mod for x1300 non-pro and with slight 0.05V incrase i get extra 40mhz on core!!
Before my mod i was able 570mhz MAX on gpu but now it is 608mhz:D
Of course this is only beginning:banana:

just to let you now:
- normal voltage for gpu on x1300 is 1.25V!!
- there is one resistor you need to change on pcb but it is very small! (0.5mm)

to saaya: power reg. on x1600 is same as on my x1300 (rt9232a) so vmod will be easy if you can solder so small resistors 1.0mm x 0.5mm:)

It's more than certain that you will get 750mhz from x1600
i want asus too but is unavailable in UK for now, mayby after new year:confused:

ad2. temps are quite normal, i can hold radiator in hand without problems it's only warm. i think gpu is around 60C
throw 1.3V on the gpu and tell us how far it goes :)

R610 is responsible for vgpu on my card it was 385ohms and i changed it to 335ohms, result - 1.3v on gpu
you can measure vgpu on 2 pins from capacitor where i put 'R610'
i think r710 is responsible for vmem but on my card is different power circuit for mem :(

and yeah, this is actually the 1600pcb afaik, not 1300. ati just used the same pcb for bothb1300 and 1600, see how it has gddr3? no 1300 will ever have gddr3 ^^
they made a new pcb for ddr1 and 2 now i think.
1300 has now ddr1 and 1600pro is ddr2 pcb, hence a different power circuit to feed the memory... thats what i think at least
what temps do you get at stock, and oced to 600 with vgpu mod?
are you still on stock cooling?

To SAYYA - i have almost same pcb and same memory chip but with af28 (2.8ns) instead of af25 (it's DDR2)
i replaced resistor to 335ohms, when you go with less resistance you get more volts and this is my plan for today or tomorrow :D
and poor owners of MSI cards because they change both power circuits, on MSI you need different vmod!!

I succesfully did both Vgpu and Vmem mods with Sapphire X1300Pro :banana:
Default voltades on my card is: Vgpu=1.322V and 1.896V
Also I measure pin 5 (feedback) of RT9232a, default feedback voltage = 0.80V on both RT9232a's.
I use pencil, no soldering for now. Pencil method works fine for Vmem, but poor for Vgpu.
Vgpu: Pencil R610 from 150 ohm to 140 ohm (Vgpu 1.315V -> 1.40V) - I can't get more with pencil :(
Vmem: Pencil R710 from 767 ohm to 696 ohm (Vmem 1.896V -> 2.10V) - Can get more, but I tried running at 2.30V-2.45V and it was unstable. So 2.10-2.20V is enough for crappy DDR2 infineon.
First results with vmods (on my untweaked dirty WinXP):

PS. alternative vmod method: solder VR between Pin5 (Fb) and Pin7 (GND) of RT9232a.

Not tried yet. I just use my multimeter for tracing wires from R610/R710 to pins of RT9232a and it looks like right side of R610 connected to pin5 of RT9232a and left side - to pin7. Unsure what VR more suitable for this method, may be 10k for Vgpu and 20k for Vmem, may be I check it later for Vgpu.Quote:

I got around to testing the voltmod I did earlier (pins 5 and 7 to POT)...works perfectly.
Benchmarked '01 @ 689Mhz / 1.378Vgpu
Now at 702Mhz / 1.38volts I'll do some benching @ well north of 700 tomorrow.

I started out with stock Vgpu of 1.315 and 151 Ohms between Pin 5 (FB) and 7(GND). I soldered a 5K Ohm POT set to max (4.7K), to pins 5 and 7. According to formula ...should give a new value of 1.357.....pretty close, I got 1.356. Of course, decrease resistance for more Vgpu. I'm currently testing @ 1.38.

did you notice that rv515 incrase voltage under load??
on my card it is 0.03V more on gpu when playing 3D :cool:

EDIT: 709Mhz gpu / 500Mhz mem Hit a wall at 709, had to use 1.42 volts.....had some system probs, by the time I was able to bench again, water was room temp around 20 C, at that temp had to raise Vgpu to 1.43.
in 2003 thats close to a 1600xt :lol:
well but lets not forget that this is with 10x300 2-2-2... :D

one thing, best is to put potentiometr and set vgpu under 1.55v because i tryed 1.6v and for gpu that was fine (still sometimes working) but some other elements on pcb didn't survive!
protably rt9232a or transistors on feedback circuit don't like too much ampers;)

I was 10 seconds from completing 2K3 at that speed before lockup....I'll try again soon.
The sweet spot for this gpu is at 722Mhz. Will run there all day with 1.45 volts....hits a wall after that.
EDIT: If you compare the top 2 2K1 scores for this class.....my nature score is really lagging. Only differences are; Xp vs 2000, and ram @ 2-2-2-5 vs a little faster but 2.5-3-3-7. (I'm thinking it's the ram more than OS).

I'll try to analyze it and may be find way to change gpu/mem clocks in bios for both pro and non-pro cards. I already tried to modify x1300pro bios, but it isn't works with new clocks - card works ok with new clocks, but catalyst driver not loads :(

and our 1600 cards crap out at 630mhz wich is 500+133
could be a coincindence but i got excited when i found the max speed we can oc the core next to the reference clockspeed in the bios :D
