Nice thread perkam...I'm really wondering when we will see this next benchmark from Futurermark....I have a feeling it's closer then we think.....I hope Q1 :)

FM speeds up the dev process everytime a graphics card comes closer to 15k stock in their most current 3dmark...the R580 and the G71 should be able to accomplish that feat on single card or at least be able to reach stock sli/crossfire scores on air...so it should be quite near...but I wouldn't expect it in q1 06.

I doubt SLI GTX's will be getting 11fps when it's released properly.

looking forward to the 2fps i'll get with 3dmark06, lol...

thats about half the fps i get with the cpu-tests in 3dmark05 hrhr :D

so I assume that any test that uses HDR will be omitted entirely on a system using a X800 series card or less.

From the interview, there will be additional tests that the x8xx series will not be able to run, but it will be able to run all tests **REQUIRED** to get a 3dmark.

Looking forward to the slideshow...you need the newest flash player for this though...

Wow with both x1900 and 3dmark06 just around the corner, I can just feel the next-generation of gaming breathing down my neck. I know one thing for sure, i'm definately not going to be upgrading my computer this month LOL.

Next generation gaming, IMO will be when Vista is out, with SM4.0, GDDR3 cards, and Unreal 3 engines, etc, I.e end of this year, with Dual core optimized engines.

In your case, I'd get a G71 or R580...and forget about G80/R600...it's still way to early for that..maybe wait for socket AM2, but 939 is still alive and kicking :)

I wonder what score we will get with G70/R520....hmmm 5500?

I get 22k in '03, 10k in '05, and now in '06?

prolly not a bad guess for stock x1x00/g7x00 hardware. 3dmark03 came out around 5k stock 9700pro. 3dmark05 came out around 5k stock on x800xtpe. Wassnt benching before 3dmark01 came out tho:p:

Once it is released and Reviews begin to come out, this thread will be unstickied and changed to 3dmark06 Pre-Release Info...and a new 3dmark06 Reviews and Info Thread shall be formed :)

german site hartware.net reports that theres gonna be a free basic version, an advanced edition for 20 bucks and a professional edition with lots of additional settings for enterprise use selling for $500 :eek:

... and its supposed to be much more cpu dependant

sounds to me like we finally have ourselves a new 01...as in a 3d benchmark that is both gpu and cpu dependent of course :cool: .

05 is already very CPU dependent, at least at the high-end. I'd honestly prefer another as-little-CPU-dependence-as-possible benchmark, like 03 or what we all thought 05 was before SLI.

well i dont think that the single tests are much cpu dependant on todays video cards, cuz of the excessive use of shaders
but this time they will include the cpu tests score in the overall 3dmarks

The email gamespot just sent me says they have it for download right now.. but that could be a farse..

so I guess the email was a little deceptive... the 18th it is. :)

good itll be nice for the cpu to mean something again... though futuremark's tests always seem to point right where next gen games are going, so im wondering if games are going to start leaning on the cpu alot more. as it is it seems like it doesnt make a difference if im running 2.0 or 2.6 ghz on my X2.

certainly 2.6 feels faster in windows, but in games id never know the difference... just a couple of frames.

Downloading now.. No SM3 on my X800GTO, but the hopefully the SM2 tests are pretty.

Already ran it. 2470 with 81.98 and 2896 with 81.95 :confused: Doesn`t newer drivers bring better performance ?
IMO this one requires not some kick ars cpu or clocked sky-high vga, but PhysX and full-of-shaders-pipelines grafic card:)
I guess after some short time we`ll have aproovement of my "imo" :)

82.65s do the charm for me, fix alot of crap going on in Q4 and dual cores. Although I am unimpressed with 3dM06, big rehash of 05, HDR mixed with some higher res textures and now you have 06. Really disappointed in the CPU test, not sure wtf is going on, and 0fps is pretty sad :slap:

Since the news will now focus on drivers that benefit cards in 06...little need for this to be stickied.

man nvidia's drivers are confusing, i used to be annoyed with ati releasing a new driver every month, but at least i know which one to use.

with nvidia i have like 20 different drivers to choose from with no way of knowing which works best or which is least buggy... sheesh.

LOL stock X23800 and stock X800XT all in wonder got me only a whopping 2078 points, them CPU tests are unreal most of the imt was 0fps
