Chilly says the unit can be tuned for -100C temps as only 5 of the 6 stages are running with one more left to go ;)

Nice s7e9h3n. Now you need to get a chip that has no cold bug. Maybe a 670 would fit the bill. An 840xe would also be pretty good.
how do the evap load temps hold with that auto?

I thought about planning a 3 stage auto cascade. I guess you'd just have to plan it out well and choose the right gases, control the condensing temp of each stage and charge accordingly. That may sound like i think it's easy, but I know it isn't :D

AFAIK, this cpu has a bug @ 300HTT and ~-42C. Other than 300+, I haven't seen any signs of cold bugging even @ 13x269 @ ~-47C.Quote:

I talked to Chilly about that and I may be wrong. He doesn't really know EXACTLY what's happening in those HX's but his guess is that when the unit's charged with more low pressure gasses than high, the LP gas will fill more than one HX and thereby making the HX useless. I never had a frost over issue on my dfi nf4, even with less insulation. When I'd let it sit at -73c tube for 20 minutes while screwing with GPU tube I'd frost a bit on the heatsink but that's it. Are you running IHS on? That may be why... Transfers cold a lot more. As soon as I took the shim off my x800pro all the frosting issues went away.
Yup the IHS is still on. Another oddity I've noticed with this auto are the evap temps. The other day, I was running superpi 8m and before the test started, my evap was @ -72C idle. The fully loaded temps only crept up to -68C......a 4C degree delta :confused:BTW - this was @ 1.65Vcore.......Quote:

the question is, (except the display of skills and knowledge) does it worth to make such a complex system, or simply add another compressor make a classic 2stager ?

Worth the size and money and time spent? NO. Worth investigating, yes. After all, this unit is good way to figure out how really autocascade should be done and once we get firm ground like we have done on single stage and cascade, could become viable option for autocascade. Not everyone want cascade, but might not be 100% happy with single stage either. For someone like me who wants cold temp but want to keep things quiet and reasonable, even 10c improvement by going autocascade might be viable option. This could be the future of high end vapo phase change cooling using single compressor :)
There's not that many people out there who could actually build a unit such as this. Even Chilly1 admits he doesn't have a firm grasp of what's going on inside the HX's of this unit. He keeps on telling me that one day, he'll strip all the foam insulation off my unit to get an idea of how this thing is built. Another thing about this autocascade which makes it unique is the fact that it was built for 24/7 use. I would keep the unit on continuously if I could prevent my mobo from frosting over and if I didn't have to dry my clothes in the dryer (this unit plugs into the 220V of an electric dryer)......Quote:

yes very expensive gasses, and there is some serious wierdness going on herer this autocascade sounds like a compressor inthe foam and also has a sound like a river in the head..
It may use teh R401 and the other low pressure gasses to act as a liquid cooled block... and do all the work in the foam??
THe captube to the head is larger than the ones looping back in..
Spray the board in laquor or cover the socket area with nail polish and frost is no problem ;) Or just pop the IHS and never worry about frosting again.Quote:

"material safety data sheet" available for the unit. I,m betting they don't have the percentages reveiled but the base chemicals and gases should be listed. that may tell us something about the types of gases used.
