Well, after it took my FX55 0442 claw (RIP), it wont boot with 3500 venice and Zippy700W.
Changed to Antec 500 and it booted for a fraction of second with terrifiying "bzzzt" sound....theres smoke came from this area...

Good thing it didn't take my AMD 3500 with it :)
Thats it for new generation mobo :( ...I'm back with my trusty Ultra-D..
and my fx51 went up in smoke today... i think as5 got on an IC....
sorry about your lost dumo and mnewxcv....been seeing different kind of stuff went up in smoke and burning lately :D :D

Eva, I doubt DFI will take a look at this.....it was a user error same as Mikeguava.
Also, I ran it with cascade with high vcore and vdimm and Zippy700W for a while.
Well...its "death in combat" like any other hardware that didn't make it.. :(

you know wahts funny, i mounted my ultrad d in just yesterday and fried it, look at this mobo mount fried on bottom with huge black smoke everyewhere, melted whatever the smoke colored covering is on these mobo's and left huge balckstreak down my mobo tray. and here i sit, same mobo with the mount removed talking to you at 2.7 gigs of opey 175 goodness.

I got a question for you guys. Would you all still jump on DFI boards if it didn't offer 4vdimm? I mean seriously, aren't you guys even remotely scared or at least doubtful of the stuff they put out? If someone's home and the mobo fries, its "ok" but what if no one is home and the damn thing catches fire?
what hardware I choose depends on what parts I want at the time, if your going for ram that needs 3+ volts, you want dfi no doubt. Even then, even if you don't use it, it's nice to know u have the headroom, personally, until other MB manufacs offer better stuff, I'll prob always stick with dfi. good baords, good bios support, good engineer, good forum support, no one beats them. No I'm not scared :)
Edit : I don't mean their forum support either, I meant ours, haha.
I would probably look elsewhere if DFI didnt offer the 4V Vdimm option anymore.

Dumo...I would suggest you to talk to Oskar Wu about this and see what he think the problem is, this sort of stuff is serious and need to be investigate...regardless if it was user mistake or not!! if the problem was high vcore then they should put a capped on it at maybe 1.75v or whatever to prevent BBQ chip/mobo in the future, if the problem is caused by that Zippy PSU then DFI need to officially make the announcement so we all know what to avoid or keep an eye on. make sure whatever you guys do....in no circumstances should you brought this up at DFI street forum as you'll get a "permanent vacation and IP banned for life" by their tech support Angry_Game or whatever the heck his name is.... :stick: I'm sure someone going to declare this as yet another "isolated" issue... :rolleyes:
What is happening with DFI dam...my MOBO go to "hell" to...in smoke and fire...as I said in my thread about DFI NF4 smoking&burning :slapass: Fortunately did not took my RAM, but I`m note sure for my CPU and GPU yet...will test it today...I`m choosing now a new MOBO but don`t know which one to take... :confused: I have also call the shop where buy it and they said that DFI does not cover such a kind of burn-out... :nono: I have also open a thread on dfi-street and written an e-mail to DFI NL...but no answer from anyone of DFI crew... :stick:
I think my next MOBO won`t be a DFI...but I have Mushkin redline ram so the choices are limited... :slapass:

were you and Mike running WC, phase change, cascade of any kind? even if you were....I do not understand how did the water leak or condensation get up there, it's like way up there in the corner....

Finaly have a respond from DFI here it is the content of the mail:

@Ben....I don't understand either...I ran SLI-D for 3 months daily 7/8 hours with cascade with high oc (and stock run too)...... no problem.

Wow Dumo that sucks bro. Funny thing there is going to be a hysteria here on XS. All of the noobs will be asking if this mobo is safe. Remember the hysteria caused by OPB eXpert? And those noobs on the DFI-Street forums, especial Angry Games or whatever his name is will be laughing at us.

My friend has been running older hardware for a while (NF7 2400+ etc) due to little income from an injury that kept him from working. He got a settlement and had some dough for new system. We worked on his new RDX, 4000+, x1800xl and Enermax Liberty 620w, etc.. Put it together out of the box with only cpu/hsf, ram and video card. We fired it up and got a BIOS screen and it just hung there. Pull cmos jumper to clear, reseat main psu plug and fire it up, hang again at BIOS screen and then POOF! Burnt mosfet, took it apart and went and got a Asus A8N-E Deluxe at local shop and it has been fine for two days.
These boards are total $h1t if you ask me.

dumo ,was that sound a fairly loud almost shriek when that damage happened my rdx made that sound a couple times then b/c of mem probs went back to my ultra-d . and now im seeing all this.

Don't get me wrong The noise from blowing a ddr booster is F in loud and is very satisfactory.

damn dumo thats very bad, been running the rdx200 almost 2 week every day.
with 3.6V for the mems and 1.7 for the cpu, the only prob is 340 max HTT.
and its not giving the bh-5 what it was on the NF4 sli.
and the bootingproblem is still there, have to hit the power few times when the psu was pulled out.

The Asus mobo only limits CPU vcore to 1.65V and Memory VDIMM to 3.2V, Pretty sure it can be changed with a bios as its off the refrence Sapphire design..
after seeing all these RDX200's burn, I'm quite skeptical if I should pull the trigger Dec 1 or wait till something better....

il like running the RDX200 for i long time now and now problems it runs like 1.75vcore on x2 and 3.7vdimm to 3.56vdimm and no problems , im like te lucky man in the world no problems . exept like jort bh-5 :( cpu on wc ;)
any thoughts on the A8R-MVP?
I just got another RDX200 :) ....I will take time to condensation proof it perfectly and go straight to a waiting cascade.... cross my finger that no user error this time around :D
