DOA. Never makes it past Video (2 LEDs). Thought that my X2 was dead...checked in another board, it's OK. No more for me until I get one that works.

wow....I'm shocked. :stick:
talk about crap luck! where did you buy this from? i want to stay away from that place :) just kidding im sure it was an isolated situation... well crap man beter luck next time. keep us posted on how you make out on your replacement,.
peace perc,
Monarch, same place OPB got his....be warned.
Needs newer bios already like rdx-200 did.
Dynasty - I assume others have POSTed with an X2 with a MB from this batch...what are you trying to say?
Yeah this shipment of mobo's doesnt seem to be doing to well! I just hope nobody else loses a chip on this mobo. Lucky yours came DOA cuz you never know what could have happened.
i think ill wait a while before going to this mb. i cant afford to eat a cpu like some of you guys have. i would shizit my self if i lost my FX57 to a mb like this! also i want to see how this mb pans out with the tccd memory i hear its more geared for bh/utt chips wich is a bummer for us tccd users...
thx perc,
Newer bios on my RDX-200 cleared up all my hang on boot issues.Quote:

did you have to hot swap the chips to get a good flash?
well....guess the answer is no as there is no BIOS available for the sExpert
No, bios available yet.
FCG: I wouldn't use your fx 57 on the board for time being.
Try with an 130nm cpu for testing and when newer bios is available give
your fx 57 a try. Don't lose an San Diego like OPB did. :(
Yeah you might be better off with it coming DoA. DFI is doing something on the RDX200/eXpert that push the chips to hard I think. OPB lost 2 and mikeguava lost 3 right? Has anyone else lost chips? I'd stay away for the time being :(
i just set up mine today, and so far the board was a plesure to work with. Not a single issue i can complain about. I haven't pushed it yet though.
hmm i havent had a problem so far on my expert with my opty 150 ..
i know this cpu is stable at 2950 @ 1.45 on air .. but i cant get it rock stable on the expert .. was fine on the sli-dr .. dont know :stick:
from what i saw and heard rdx200 seemed to need higher voltages to reach the same overclocks people had on the old NF4 boards. Maybe it's the same story with the expert? They totally reworked the power delivery, so you might have to give your CPU more voltage. But i woudln't do that if i were you, hearing how these boards are killing CPUs too. :slap:
makes me wanna go back to my sli-dr .. if the pci-e spacing was the same i would
This might be a Captain Obvious post, but figured I would drop my 2 cents, I hardly ever post anyways...
So many boards or cpu's with this board are crapping out. This doesn't sound good at all. It cant be coincidence, somethings definately wrong. I think those of us that havent ordered one yet should wait awhile and see whats up before we get one.
These boards seem very unreliable so far.
Watch yourselves peeps. :stick:
who knows .. could be a bios issue . dunno ..
but so far my impressions are
love the layout .. :D
dont like the stabilty so far .. might have to go back to my sli-dr
scary stuff there... lucky i decided to just buy a DFI NF4 Ultra-D and wait it out for a while!
Yeah lookin scary , i just ordered another SLI d board for now , i dont think i wanna wait for this, maybe in a few months
Try clean CMOS and check ur Ram again.
I'm going to stick with Ultra-D and stay away from the Expert for the time being...till DFI or whomever fix this crap, I don't really feel like frying any cpu at the moment, better safe than sorry so I'll wait....
someone at DFI's place must be having red ears.
im just glad i just bought a brand new nf4-d without epoxy and did the sli-d mod, its has taken my 3700+ to 3ghz air cooled.
maybe you should look @ Asus A8N32-SLi ;)
RMA that sucka and cross your fingers. :)
These can't all be borked  !
OPPainter seems to be doin ok with his.
Not with their useless layout :rolleyes:Quote:

Using one vid card 2 PCI slots available, with 2 cards probably none if the card is cooled well :rolleyes:Quote:

i've seen the thread with dead cpu + A8N32...
I haven't seen a real overclocker with this board yet
That should tell you something as wellQuote:

The word Xtreme and Asus dont go together. its an alright board for the avg overclocker not trying to push the envelope, but it certainly cant match the DFI, i dont care what Anandtech's review concludes..
scary stuff.. looks like DFI is takinga nosedive on these two new boards.. hopefully they fix them and do so quickly.
When it comes to the oc'ing part of their review, anymore I just laugh. Doing a high HTT at a low X says nothing about how high it will really clock. Just for a stock comparison they are OK but not for oc'ing.Quote:
