im sure i can get more from it though with more voltage my asus k8n wont seem to go above 1.63

I am still unaware of how comparing other chips to mine makes any differance whatsoever?? nobody has posted a actual amd sempron socket 754 3000+

how do you compare chips like this??? if so why is there a separate listing for the 64 vs non 64 3100+ if it makes no difference...looked like 400 mhz difference to me...
and how does comparing 2 different makes of cpu's make any sence at all when lower stock speed cpus can sometimes beat their big brothers...
i may not know if i have a record overclock for this chip but as far as im concerned niether do you until i see it... and im not talking a different model of cpu lets make this really clear

I was under the impression that 3000+ 64 bit = 3000+ 32 bit, other than the 64 bit extensions enabled, which are NOT used in 32 bit windows. *shrug* Minor technicality.

Could be a WR by default because it looks like no one else is overclocking the chip. But if a 2600+ can do SP16M at 2.7 Ghz, then 2.5 Ghz SS on a 3000+ doesn't seem that impressive.
World record? Sure, probably is. You're the first guy I've even seen overclocking that particular chip.
Impressive? Sorry, but I've had 3100+ sempron 32bit's waaaaay above that on air cooling. But again, submerged mineral cooling... would be cool to see some pics.

i have found the volt mod for my mobo and will be doing it tomorrow so im sure i can have a better result soon :) but still limited to 300 fsb cause of this k8n board :mad:
unless someone knows a solution to this but i dunno if theres a prog/bios mod that addresses this.

basically the mobo is in a rubbermaid tub with like 30 bottles of "unscented delicate baby oil" with a submersable pump capable of 200gph water and a unknown heater core and a large fan and shroud to cool the oil
theres one submersed fan stirring the oil around and the pump drops the cooled oil onto the stock heatsink
temps are 37c full load running seti@home classic on normal priority not low
29c idle just above ambient no cnq used
ive given some thought to my future cooling solution and am thinking of putting a 250 watt pelt on the cpu using the stock hs after machining it thinner and then let the oil cool the pelt and the pelt cool the cpu and there will be no condensation because the pelt has no air under the oil :)

im concerned that this may create much higher oil temps though but not sure since there will be cold being produced as well??? mabye i will have to add a larger pump and a second or larger radiator to the equasion
WRs aren't set by CPU type/model, they are set by CPU core.
All Palermo cores are the same and there are a lot of Palermos going way faster then you.
Nobody has posted them online because it's simple not impressive at all.
AMD programs the chips with a certain model number based on market demand. They used to do it based on position in the wafer (middle yielding better results) but for the Semprons and Athlon 64s this is no longer the case. All Semprons and Athlon 64s produced today can do what the max model does at stock voltage and stock cooling.
For the X2s and the FXs this is a other story alltogether.
So you do not have a world record, you are just the only one posting oc results with this particular model.
As for your pelt idea:
You will still need isolation on the cold side of the pelt. Peltiers work by transferring energy from one side to the other. They do this in a very inefficient way since energy is constantly pooring back to the cold side. (like mopping with the water running)
If you put everything in the oil without the isolation you will provide an alternative route for the energy to flow back completely killing the pelt's performance level.
It seems you have a lot to learn about energy flows.
The setup you are now using is less efficient then using this radiator just for WC, this is because you are also dumping the energy of the entire system into the radiator whilst otherwise only the CPU energy would be.
I don't really see the point of oil systems without sub-zero tempratures anyways, so just switch over to WC. Also put some fans on the radiator...
Warning:
I've had oil systems running before:
After a couple of weeks/months the dust coming into the oil turns the oil from non-conductive into conductive killing everything (and becoming a hazard if the PSU is in there).
So be sure to seal of the system from the outside world completely (I used a sealed boxed with foil wrapped around it and mine still died after 4 months, I measured the oil to be conductive at that time)
my p4 3.4 ghz is a world record....
the worlds fastest p4 in my house
also, the viscosity of the oil makes it not flow so great... properties of air are better for cooling a processor, motherboard cooling is probably better w/ the oil, but processor, it just slows things up, unless you try to supercool it

ive run this system now for 6 months no problems the oil isnt conductive yet..

i have dust in the solution i can see it at the bottom of my oil but no conduction i imagine it matters what type of dust is in the air around here its just gravel /limestone
as far as getting better results from wc than oil cooling where do you think i got the oil coolong idea ive used wc for 5 years on various systems and they dont keep the cpus nearly as cool as this oil stsyem does its all about how you set it up
watercooling does not surround the cpu (the reason for my better temps with this than wc)it does not cool my ram it does not cool my southbridge does not cool my northbridge does not cool my vid card does not cool my vid ram...
if i only wanted a cool cpu mabye.... but it seems to me wc is inefficient in the way that it does not surround the cpu like this does ive never come so close to ambient cpu temps with wc..

And as for the Palermo cores: All Palermo cores are the same, they use the exact same design. Newer CPUs will overclock beter because of the constantly improving production proces at AMD. As for not supporting different features, this is all done by changing registers inside the CPU. The same registers hold information about the model number etc. So no x86-64 only means a 0 instead of a 1 inside the CPU, which has nothing to do with overclocking.

If you think oil cooling of the entire system has better overclock results then the same cooling system filled with water only cooling the CPU you are sadly mistaken. In my experience extra cooling on the chipset and rest of the system on a K8 system has little to no effect to the maximum overclock. When cooling the CPU you are also cooling the clock generations circuits and memory controller inside, those combined with the memory and quality of the motherboard/power supply determine the max overclock. And you don't need to cool the sides of the CPU, the actual CPU is only a very small core in the silicium. The rest is just for connecting that core to the mainboard.
I don't see why you cling to incorrect statements as if they were true. I bet you 95% of the public here could beat your overclock within the day. You yourself could increase your overclock greatly by just mounting a good WC block on the CPU and using regular WC on the CPU

JAKE:(i could achieve higher clocks if my motherboard would support higher voltage without a volt mod im stuck at 1.6 volts also my nforce3 250 chipset stops at 300 fsb.....so given the same limits as i face i seriously doubt anyone could do much better with this board... and if so im glad to hear it its not like im trying to win some freaking trophy....) im just a overclocker thats having some fun playing with my system..
