For 0.422s of action you would not even need HSF at all :lol: Just naked CPU without any cooling :D

What cooling are you using? At 1.488v you are going to have a hard time with temps in a shuttle

hrm I have a SN95G5 V3 shuttle box, its skt 939 I wonder if a 939 opteron will work in it would be way cool.
I currently have a week 17 venice in it that can hit 2.75ghz on 1.55v and 2.55ghz on stock voltage.(which is what I keep it at most of the time)
wonder if gettin the opteron will do me much more with the cache and all...

they can do really good...and the price out there is incredible...
But, i head they don't like high voltajes...anything about it?
They don't scale like other SD's did with voltage. They'll definitely improve slightly if your cooling can handle it though.

Bad theory...I didn't gain a whole lot from losing the IHS (which wasn't flat) and the inside paste was the same as the stuff from my X2.
Maybe these TDPs are actually accurate and the A64s are overshoots? Actually, we KNOW the A64s are in fact overshoots.
They don't at all scale like a sd. That's why they just can't be a regular sd with operton lasered on the IHS.Quote:

It also strikes me that they are different than most SDs. It does seem that SDs like less volts than say, Venices, but these opterons are extremely low-volt, more so than SDs. A naked comparison between Opti and SD would be a good idea. It can't just be taken from the center of the wafer, tha twould just be an SD with an 00xx batch number.Quote:
